The listed company under the China National Nuclear Corporation suddenly broke the unfortunate news.
On the evening of July 1, China Tongsheng, a Hong Kong-listed company, announced that its executive director and general manager Wang Yao had a sudden illness and died on June 29.
According to public information, Wang Yao joined China Tongsheng in April 2024 and was appointed as the company's general manager the following month. According to the previous appointment announcement, Wang Yao was only 46 years old.
On the evening of July 1, less than two months after the death of the general manager of China Tongsheng, China Tongsheng issued an announcement: Wang Yao, executive director and general manager, passed away on June 29, 2024 due to ineffective treatment for a sudden illness. Wang Yao has not been working in China for a long time. Wang Yao joined China Tongsheng in April 2024 as Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the company. On May 6, the board of directors of China Tongsheng appointed Wang Yao as the executive director and general manager of the fourth board of directors of the company, which has been less than two months.
According to the resume disclosed by China Tongsheng in May this year, Wang Yao was 46 years old at the time and was a senior engineer. Wang Yao obtained a bachelor's degree in management engineering from China University of Geosciences (Beijing) in July 1999. In July 2015, he obtained a master's degree in project management from China University of Geosciences (Beijing).
In terms of work experience, Wang Yao has worked in the CNNC system for many years. From June 2016 to March 2019, Wang Yao served as the Director of the Industrial Development Division of the China Institute of Atomic Energy. From March 2019 to December 2021, Wang Yao served as the vice president of the Southwest Institute of Physics of the Nuclear Industry.
In December 2021, Wang Yao served as the deputy general manager of China Baoyuan Investment Co., Ltd., and from December 2022, he served as a member of the Party Committee and deputy general manager of China Baoyuan until he joined China Tongsheng in April 2024.
It is reported that China Baoyuan is a subsidiary of China National Nuclear Corporation, which is a unified nuclear technology application industry holding platform of China National Nuclear Corporation. China Baoyuan is also the largest shareholder of China Tongsheng, directly holding 33.79% of the shares.
According to the official WeChat account of China Tongsheng, from June 16th to 18th, Wang Yao, general manager and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of China Tongsheng, went to Sichuan Province to communicate with relevant provincial and municipal government departments and CNNC institutes in Sichuan, actively promote the opening up and coordination of Sichuan Province, and open up a new situation for the high-quality development of China's Tongsheng industry in Sichuan. In addition, Wang Yao also visited the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and the Leshan Municipal Government, and held discussions with the Nuclear Power Institute and the Western Institute of Things.

For Wang Yao's regrettable passing, the board of directors of China Tongsheng expressed its deep condolences in the announcement.

In addition, China Tongsheng said that the company will continue to conduct business operations in accordance with the business strategy established by the board of directors. The Board will appoint new General Managers, Executive Directors, members of the Board's Strategy Committee and members of the Technology Innovation Committee in due course, and will make further announcements as soon as practicable.
According to the list of directors released by China Tongsheng, there are currently two executive directors of the company, namely Chairman Zhang Junqi and Deputy General Manager Fan Guomin.
According to public information, China Tongsheng is a subsidiary of China National Nuclear Corporation, which was reorganized and established on the basis of the former China Isotope Co., Ltd. in 2011, and is the main force of China National Nuclear Corporation to enter the people's life and health science and technology and the main channel for the transformation of advanced nuclear science and technology achievements.
Focusing on the two major industrial directions of nuclear medical health and irradiation application, China Tongsheng is committed to providing overall solutions for nuclear medicine, radiotherapy and the promotion and application of radiation technology. Up to now, China Tongsheng has 83 enterprises under management at all levels, including 20 high-tech enterprises and 14 "specialized, special and new" enterprises.
In July 2018, China Tongsheng was successfully listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. As of the close of trading on June 28, the share price of China Tongsheng was HK$10.08 per share, with a total market capitalization of HK$3.2 billion.
