According to Le Parisien, just after 7 a.m. on Sunday, June 30, police found the body of a man with no signs of life at the Belle City station, where lines 2 and 11 of the Paris 10 metro line pass.

According to police sources, CCTV footage from the filming scene showed that the victim had descended onto the subway tracks before being electrocuted by the railroad tracks. The footage corroborates the accounts of eyewitnesses who called the police.

The phenomenon of electric shock depends on the track that the victim is touching. The Paris metro is supplied with a continuous power supply of 750 volts via a "traction track", which is the most life-threatening track. In addition, the so-called "running tracks" are not electrified, which explains why some people are unharmed after stepping into the subway tracks.

Although the fire brigade treated the man, his life could not be saved. His body was in the hands of the funeral director and he was sent to the Institut Médico-Légal.

After the incident, traffic on Line 11 was interrupted for almost 4 hours.

Only a few lines of the Paris metro currently have platform doors installed in whole or in part to prevent passengers from falling into the tracks. Installing a dock door requires a lot of work.

Until platform doors become widespread, transport operators are counting on users to take on more responsibility. Before being hit by a train, the first thing people who get down to the subway tracks is the risk of electrocution. However, activating the "circuit breaker" will immediately cut off the power to the relevant section of the road and automatically block the train coming in both directions.

According to all transport experts, the most effective solution to prevent accidental falls or illegal break-into the tracks remains the installation of platform doors, which separate the platform from the tracks and can only be opened when the train enters the station.
