When David Beckham spoke to David Attenborough at the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club in south-west London on July 1, the whole court was thrilled.
The 49-year-old former footballer took his mum Sandra with him to Wimbledon, where the pair watched the opening round match between Spain's Carlos Alcaraz and Estonia's Mark Rahal in the famous Royal Box on Centre Court.
Beckham and Sandra were joined by Jamie Callum, Katherine Jenkins and Alexander Armstrong and many other dignitaries to enjoy the excitement and joy of the game. However, during this event, Beckham still spent some time talking to the 98-year-old national treasure David Attenborough, which attracted the attention and curiosity of the audience.
Later, the soccer star was seen stopping to take photos with fans, including an excited little boy.
Beckham's public appearance comes just weeks after he was officially recognised by King Charles as an ambassador for charity. After announcing the appointment, the former England captain said he was "excited" to be selected for this important role at the King's beloved Highgrove estate.
He is Charles' first ambassador appointed by the charity since his coronation, a move that is sure to increase speculation that David Beckham's long-held dream of a knighthood could finally become a reality.
As an ambassador, Beckham will raise awareness of the charity by supporting and attending events. Beckham, however, focused more on his other hobby: sports, as he played his first day at Wimbledon.
When Beckham appeared at the tennis match, he looked very handsome in a custom Boss beige canvas single-breasted suit with a blue cotton shirt underneath. He wore a pair of his own sunglasses, which made him look particularly chic.
David Beckham and his mum Sandra were invited to sit in the royal box, a very honoured position where they will watch British star Emma Radakanu and Russia's Ekaterina Alexandrova match. They will then watch Spanish star Carlos Alcaraz and World 262 qualifier Mark Rahal.
It's no secret that Beckham and his mum have always loved Wimbledon and go to Wimbledon every year. They have a very close relationship and are full of special feelings for each other. The event was a special day for Beckham and he couldn't be more excited.
