She delivered a message that read: "I regret not being with you today to commemorate the heroic efforts and sacrifices of the members of the Newfoundland Regiment who fought on the first day of the Battle of the Somme. ”

When Princess Anne was discharged from the hospital, her husband, Tim Lawrence, said in a statement: "I would like to extend my warmest thanks to all the team at South Mead Hospital for their care, professionalism and kindness during my wife's brief hospital stay. ”
