The advent of AI has changed the way I learn

author:ChatGPT sweeper

On May 6, 2024, while driving from work, I listened to a talk on the topic of "The Psychology Behind Anti-Human Design" in the Ichixi app. After listening to it, I thought the content was very good, so I thought about organizing it into a note-taking app at night.

What do I do next?

The traditional approach is to listen to it again, then comb through the whole framework and refine the main points.

But this time, I want to try AI.

Here's how:

In the first step, I opened the web version of "Yixi", then selected "Open Document" and copied the document into Word.

In the second step, I uploaded the Word to Kimi (an AI assistant) and asked it to "organize the structure of the articles in the order in which they were written."

In the third step, I let it analyze why the article is engaging, focus on the most important merits, and give examples.

The fourth step is to organize the relevant content into Evernote based on your own judgment.

- The whole process, in just about 10 minutes, I got what I wanted; If it was before, the whole process would have taken about half an hour, to say the least.

One more case.

I have joined a lot of industry exchange groups, and I often share a lot of resources in various formats: PPT, Word, PDF.

For me, the value of most resources lies in the text part – if you want to write a plan or plan in the future, you can quickly find inspiration from it.

One day, I got a PPT resource of "Details of the Three-Year Human Resources Plan of the Group Company", so I uploaded it to Kimi and asked it to extract all the text in the PPT, so I got the following content:

Next, to make it easier to search for later, I asked Kimi to generate a snippet as follows:

Then, I copy and paste the relevant content (PPT, abstract, content of each page) into Evernote, so that I can quickly retrieve the relevant content if I need it in the future.

The tool I use is Kimi, an artificial intelligence tool similar to Chat-GPT, which has a web version, an App version, and a mini program version.

What I like most about it compared to other tools is that it's simple and doesn't have so many bells and whistles.

At present, the scenario that is used more is learning.

  • When you come across a good essay (or speech), ask it to help you sort out your ideas and refine the merits of your expression.
  • When you come across a good document, ask it to help you extract the text and output a summary for later retrieval.
  • All of this content is ultimately stored in a note-taking app (such as Evernote).

The process of learning with AI consists of three steps:

1. Self-study. Have a rough idea of whether the information is of good quality or not.

2.AI Organizing. Ask it to do some of the hard work for me, such as extracting text and combing through summaries.

3. Take notes. Organize this information into your own notes.

The first and third steps cannot be omitted: because the information screening depends on oneself, after all, only one knows whether it is good or not, whether it is suitable or not; It's also up to you to take notes, because only you know what kind of information is easier to search.

Finally, I would like to say a feeling.

In fact, I hesitated to post this article, because there are many big names in the AI field in my circle of friends, and I am a little worried about being sprayed: such a simple content should also be introduced?!

But when I asked other people, they just knew that AI was powerful and might have to replace a lot of jobs, but they were still working the same way back to their jobs.

This is known as a cognitive barrier: information that some people take for granted is new for others.

But this does not mean that others are not good, they may be more powerful in their own professional field, in investment, after all, there is a specialization in the art industry.

That's the point of writing an article, connecting information and breaking down barriers.

Hope this article enlightens you.
