Microsoft Windows 10
Soon, Windows 10 will stop updating, which can lead to "holes" in the operating system security system. The solution to this problem was proposed by the developers of the 0Patch project, who pledged to continue releasing "ten" security patches until 2030. However, its users will have to pay out of pocket.
The 0Patch team says it will provide support for the operating system after five years of the official "shelf life", which will expire in October 2025. The developers promise to release patches for critical threats, including zero-day vulnerabilities, as well as bug fixes for system applications and features, and even patches for certain vulnerabilities in third-party software.
Corporate services are not free: a two-year personal plan will cost €25.95. In comparison, Microsoft's official subscription to Extended Security Updates (ESU) costs $61 per year for one PC per year. At the same time, the connection of the second year of the tariff still needs to pay for the previous subscription period.
