The Jesko was Koenigsegg's hottest supercar, with which Koenigsegg set four new world records. Jesko Absolut broke the new record, which was set at 0-250 mph (about 402.33 km/h), 0-400 km/h, 0-250-0 mph, and 0-400-0 km/h.

On June 27, on the runway of an airport in Sweden, a Jesko Absolut completed 0-400-0 km/h in 27.83 seconds. That's nearly a second faster than the previous world record of 28.81 seconds set by the Koenigsegg Regera in 2023.

The record was set by Koenigsegg test driver Markus Lundh and was just one of four records broken by the day's "fully certified standard production car". The other three records were 0-400 km/h in 18.82 seconds, 0-250 mph in 19.20 seconds, and 0-250-0 mph in 28.27 seconds.

Initial testing took place on June 26, but "temperatures were above optimal". So they waited until 5 a.m. on June 27 to break the record with Jesko Absolut in standard delivery condition, which runs on E85 fuel and standard Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 R tires. Koenigsegg also said the only changes are the addition of a roll cage and a driver's seat for the One:1.

Jesko Absolut is "designed for straight-line speeds", with its "body design with a small front area, a well-designed ventilation system to release high-pressure air, and no active aerodynamics, all designed to minimize drag". In addition to its streamlined design, the car is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that can output up to 1,600 horsepower when running on E85 fuel.

Christian von Koenigsegg commented: "This record test validates the accuracy of Jesko Absolut's simulation and computational performance, which gives us confidence that it will be the world's fastest and fully compliant production car. Now, all we have to do is test, develop and approve the tires before we can finally try to break that record. ”

More details were shared on June 20 after an "round-the-clock investigation" of the accident vehicle. Koenigsegg said the fuel tank, as well as the engine and transmission oil systems, were intact and were not the source of the fire. Subsequently, Koenigsegg revealed "a trace of hydraulic oil that appeared at the rear of the vehicle", which prompted them to investigate the pressurized hydraulic system. They found a problem with one of the rear hydraulic hoses and said it was clearly a hose failure that caused the fire.

Koenigsegg confirmed the "no driving" order and said: "We are now inspecting the installation of hydraulic hoses in this area in all Jesko sports cars in production and in all Jesko sports cars sold to ensure that the installation is not damaged." The company also revealed that they are working on a software update that will be able to detect leaks and immediately shut down the hydraulic system to prevent fires.
