On July 2, at the 26th Annual Meeting of the China Association for Science and Technology, the China Association for Science and Technology officially released the 2023 "Science and Technology China" series of lists. After extensive mobilization and recommendation, 5 projects in Foshan were selected, ranking fourth among the 65 "Science and Technology China" pilot cities and first among prefecture-level cities. Among them, 3 projects in the South China Sea were selected, involving both traditional industries such as ceramics and emerging industries such as biomedicine.

It is understood that the "Science and Technology China" series of lists were established by the China Association for Science and Technology, aiming to strengthen the brand building of "Science and Technology China", recommend a number of typical achievements, institutions and tasks of industry-university-research integration, play a leading and exemplary role, establish a vane for the deep integration of industry, education and research, and strive to open up the key links from strong science and technology to strong industry and strong economy. Among them, the list of cutting-edge enterprises set up brings together small and medium-sized science and technology enterprises with independent innovation ability and growth potential, which contribute to the industrial upgrading of the pilot cities (parks) of "Science and Technology China" and are expected to become a new force leading industrial innovation and development.

The 2023 "Science and Technology China" series of lists will focus on the whole process of innovation ecological chain of "technological research + achievement transformation + organizational empowerment + talent support", and tap a number of cutting-edge technological achievements, potential science and technology enterprises, industry-university-research collaborative innovation organizations, and technology transfer and transformation talents, so as to create a list brand with both characteristics and leadership. The list covers 150 leading technology lists, 50 cutting-edge enterprise lists, 10 financial innovation organization lists, and 20 technology manager pioneer lists, with a total of 230 projects on the list.

According to the selected list, the three selected projects in Nanhai not only involve the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, but also strategic emerging industries such as new materials and biomedicine, including Mona Lisa Group Co., Ltd.'s "Thin Manufacturing and Surface Functionalization Technology of High-strength and Large-size Ceramic Plates" and Foshan Linzhi Polymer Material Technology Co., Ltd.'s "Artificial Cartilage Bionic Energy Absorption Technology" Two technical projects were selected into the leading technology list (advanced materials), of which Mona Lisa Group is the only enterprise in the ceramic industry to be selected for the list.
