On June 27, the Bureau of Veteran Cadres of the Municipal Party Committee and the Working Committee of Retired Cadres of the Municipal Party Committee carried out the theme activity of "Praise Brilliant Achievements and Gather Silver Strength" to guide the majority of retired cadres to review the glorious history of the party, carry forward the great spirit of party building, continue the red blood, inherit the red gene, and celebrate the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China with practical actions. The event awarded commemorative medals to veteran party members who have been "glorious in the party for 50 years". During the event, 8 old party members also carried out the theme of "praising brilliant achievements and gathering silver power".
"Today, I am very proud and excited to be awarded the commemorative medal of '50 years of glory in the party'. Although I am in my old age, as long as I maintain a sincere heart of dedication to the party, I will be able to maintain my 'revolutionary youth' forever. I will continue to uphold the purpose of the party, do my best for the party and the people, and never stop fighting. Looking at the golden medal on his chest, Li Ming, an old party member, was full of excitement and recited a poem written by himself on the spot to express his love for the party.
"This heavy commemorative medal is not only an affirmation of personal loyalty and dedication, but also a collective memory and lofty tribute of the party and the people to our generation's unremitting struggle and faith." Ni Wenming, a veteran party member, said that although he has entered his old age, his love for the party and the pursuit of ideals will never fade, and he will turn honor into a driving force to continue to move forward, use his own experience and residual heat to influence and encourage the younger generation, inherit the red gene, carry forward the party's fine traditions, and contribute to the realization of the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
The medal represents struggle and glory, but also full of care and warmth. Our city fully considers factors such as the age of old party members and inconvenient mobility, and determines the door-to-door issuance and centralized issuance personnel respectively. All party (work) committees will issue commemorative medals in the form of holding forums and giving party lectures. The veteran party members talked freely about their feelings and experiences in the past 50 years since joining the party, which enhanced the sense of political ritual of "50 years of glory in the party". For veteran party members who have been ill for a long time and have difficulties in family life, the leaders of the party (work) committees will lead a team to visit and cordially express condolences, so that the veteran party members can feel the warmth and care of the party and the country.
The original intention is like a torch, the supreme glory, the commemorative medal is a powerful witness to the practice of the original mission, but also a tribute and praise to the old party members. Since 2021, in accordance with the relevant requirements, our city has issued a commemorative medal of "50 years of glory in the party" to members of the Communist Party of China who have reached the 50th anniversary of the party. 12,342 were awarded in 2021, 1,117 in 2022 and 675 in 2023.
