In order to actively prevent and control overweight and obesity in children and adolescents, and help them develop scientific eating behaviors and positive physical activity habits, this summer, Laoshan District organized the parent-child health self-management activity of "Big Hands Holding Small Hands, Healthy Together" for the first time in Laoshan District as a family unit to promote eating balance and maintain a healthy weight.

The Laoshan District Center for Disease Control and Prevention is now recruiting self-health management families from the society to provide them with professional weight loss guidance, and sincerely invites you to actively join, and the registration time is from July 1 to 11.

Parents and children have to be fat to participate

This activity is open to families of elementary and middle school students in the district, and at least one parent and one elementary and middle school student in the family have a body mass index (BMI) or waist circumference according to the criteria (the criteria are attached) to be overweight/obese. In other words, both parents and children have to be fat to be eligible for the event.

From July 1st to 11th, parents and primary and secondary school students participating in the event should call the Laoshan District Center for Disease Control and Prevention (0532-66711606) or fill in the following mini program to make an appointment for registration.

The following persons are not allowed to participate:

Be over 65 years of age;

systolic blood pressure > 180 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure > 110 mmHg;

Pregnant women;

Those who have sports injuries in the past six months.

Other patients who are medically considered unsuitable for diet control and exercise weight loss.

Two on-site measurements were taken before and after

Families will be informed of the location of the measurement after making a successful appointment by phone or through the mini program. From July 8th to 12th, go to the site to measure height, weight, waist circumference and blood pressure, and after the measurement is completed, the registration will be deemed successful, and you will receive a registration gift package.

From July 15th to August 25th, self-management of parent-child health was carried out. Parents and children can achieve weight loss by learning health knowledge together, practicing a healthy lifestyle, and developing good habits of reasonable diet and regular exercise. Technicians from the Laoshan District Center for Disease Control and Prevention will provide professional guidance on weight loss, including healthy weight knowledge, three meals a day, outdoor activities and sleep advice. Parents are responsible for recording personal diet, exercise, and sleep data, which can be supplemented by using the "Summer Health Management" applet.

From August 26 to 30, parents and primary and secondary school students who have completed self-management will go to the site again to measure their height, weight, waist circumference and blood pressure.

This is how the weight loss results are calculated

The Self-Health Management Family score is divided into the following three indicators:

Mean weight loss score: Calculate the mean weight loss of parents and primary and secondary school students who are self-managed, with an average weight loss of 1 point for every 0.2 kg of body weight, and the maximum score is capped at 30 points (recommended: 0.5-1 kg per week).

Average waist circumference reduction score: The average waist circumference reduction score for parents and primary and secondary school students who are self-managing is calculated, with an average reduction of 1 point per 0.5 cm, with a maximum score of 20 points.

Record data score: Submit a weight-loss video, which is required to be shot on the vertical screen of the mobile phone, with a duration of no more than 180 seconds, including health knowledge learning, healthy food processing, exercise, weight management experience, before and after photos, etc., with a maximum score of 50 points.

Families who complete self-health management will receive a salt tank, a salt control spoon and a canvas bag. The top 20 families in Laoshan District will receive a counting grip device; The top 10 families in Laoshan District will receive a counting grip device, an elastic band, a figure-eight tension rope and a health gift package.

Families with excellent self-health management have the opportunity to sprint for the selection of excellent self-health management families at the municipal and provincial levels.
