Located at the "East Gate" of Zhangjiang Science City, Zhangjiang Medical Device Industry Base is a district-level characteristic industrial park in Pudong New Area and the main bearing area of Zhangjiang Medical Device Industrialization. The FTA architectural design is based on the functional positioning of R&D and production, and the R&D and manufacturing space is flexible and practical.
Focusing on the production and service functions of medical devices, integrating production, supporting and other functional spaces, and using spatial organization and environmental design, FTA design not only meets the functional needs of the industrial park, but also meets the new urban landscape of image aesthetics. After the completion of the project, it can quickly alleviate the pressure of space development in Zhangjiang Park and provide suitable industrial development space for high-quality enterprises.
01
Breakthroughs should be made in the production of medical devices
The key to "high-end" upgrading is not "high-end"
Biomedical industrial park is a new type of industrial park that has risen rapidly in China in recent years, in order to cultivate, support and develop the biomedical industry, these parks usually have rich scientific research resources, international innovation platforms, perfect enterprise services, etc., which can provide strong support for the innovation and growth of biomedical enterprises.
At present, the development of biomedical industrial parks in China is still in its infancy, and there is huge potential for development. As one of them, the global market demand for medical devices is huge. Western countries started early in this field, and have more precipitation in terms of R&D capabilities and market influence, and the industrial chain and related policies are relatively perfect. China's medical device market is growing rapidly and policy support is strong, but there is still a certain gap in high-end equipment and core technologies. At the same time, the gap between high-end equipment and core technologies, as well as high cleanliness requirements, complex production processes and high standards for the working environment of scientific researchers, are also a major challenge for China's medical device manufacturing parks.
Design, how to meet these challenges?

It is not from a factory to a "high-end factory", but a community that "retains people".
02
The environment is upgraded, and the benefit is the efficiency upgrade
About one-quarter to one-third of China's industrial parks are already in surplus – and today, it's not the area that is needed.
John · Barton, director of the Stanford University's architectural design program, mentioned in a related study that when the environment is optimized, work efficiency can be increased by more than 5%. In particular, as the industry with the highest "PhD rate", employees have high requirements for a good living environment, shared space, career development opportunities, beautiful ecological environment, and convenient supporting facilities.
▲ The "futuristic", "ecological" and "dynamic" space of the science and technology innovation park stimulates the state of talents
Stimulating the state of talents through the "scene mode" rather than the "functional mode" of the space is the answer of FTA architectural design to improve the overall efficiency of the industrial park.
Because, state is productivity.
FTA Architectural Design uses the "think tank" of its TOP Innovation Research Institute to integrate the important research results of the global biomedical region, summarize the innovation model, and build a biomedical functional ecology that empowers industries, enterprises and people. The aim is to induce informal conversations, increase the concentration of innovation, and shape the scientific community that resonates at the same frequency.

Three design strategies
Realization of "from production to life"
Based on first principles, FTA architectural design starts from meeting the various needs of the campus and staff, and summarizes the existing and future pain points. The three design strategies of "from park to city", "from 'R&D' to 'intelligent manufacturing'" and "from production to life" were summarized.
/ From the park to the city, from the car city to the future pedestrian community /
With the continuous development of urbanization, people's requirements for cities are also increasing: traditional car cities can no longer meet people's needs, and the cities of the future will be transformed into pedestrian communities.
"Connecting parks into cities" means connecting different parks together to form a city with various functions and services, making the city's ecosystem more complete and efficient.
▲ The park is the city, from the car city to the pedestrian community of the future
From the initial incubation park, to the acceleration park, the acceleration park PLUS, the acceleration park PRO, and finally the development of the headquarters park, the science and technology innovation park has continuously expanded and optimized its services and functions to provide a better living and working environment for residents and enterprises.
In pedestrian communities, people can walk or bike to their destinations, which can reduce traffic congestion and air pollution while also improving the health of residents. In pedestrian communities, it's easier for people to shop, eat, play, and socialize. Pedestrian communities can also provide more public spaces where people can enjoy the outdoors and nature.

/ From "R&D" to "Intelligent Manufacturing", People-Oriented Space Design /
Market competition is intensifying, and companies need more support and resources to win in the fierce competition. The FTA architectural design combines R&D sites and office spaces to provide a comprehensive R&D unit of experiment + office. In addition to improving the functional connection of the business, the smooth spatial connection is also conducive to the communication and collaboration of departments, realizing the transition from "R&D" to "intelligent manufacturing". This park can serve growing enterprises and enterprises that already have a certain scale, and provide more comprehensive and efficient resource support and services.

The scenario-based design strategy of the external evacuation staircase brings an environment that stimulates vitality and relieves stress from the inside and outside. The combination of light, color and material is adopted, and the soft light is combined with warm colors and curved materials to create an overall perceptual visual atmosphere, and the overall atmosphere of the environment makes it resonate with people, so as to achieve the perceptual effect atmosphere of blending into the scene and blending the scene.
The bottom of the external evacuation ladder forms a glass box entrance hall, which connects the basement to the ground staircase, allowing interaction and association between the inside and outside of the building, forming an interesting space.
▲ do not add additional costs, let the color do the design
The image of the fifth façade is also one of the important elements in the design. The use of design techniques and technologies such as photovoltaics, roof frame acceleration aperture, and roof equipment shielding frame considerations on the roof make the building more visually complete and beautiful, and at the same time improve the energy efficiency of the building. Photovoltaic technology provides clean energy for buildings and reduces dependence on traditional energy sources. The roof frame accelerates the iris to increase the lighting and ventilation rate of the roof, making the building more comfortable and healthy.
/ From production to life /
The emergence of new digital factories has, on the one hand, blurred the boundaries between R&D and production, and made the production process more intelligent and efficient; On the other hand, it is also in response to the development goal of "double carbon". Laying out the future, from the digital factory, we see a more dynamic future: in the future, the lifestyle will be competitive.
Through the design guidelines of "youth", FTA Architectural Design creates a young and active urban image, an open and inclusive community culture, a diverse and rich set of shared spaces, an innovative and cutting-edge industrial ecology, and an ecological community environment. The innovative community provides 7*24 hours of work and life services, creating a new way of creating and enjoying life with zero switching.
▲ Build the "youngest" work and social scene.
Starting from the dimensions of infrastructure, industrial ecology and service ecology, based on the needs of these three levels, FTA architectural design constructs an internal logic system for scene construction. With the concept of wisdom, green and convenience, we will build three scenarios of future buildings, transportation and low-carbon, and create a carrier space with a "sense of the future" and green and sustainable development.

The living areas are designed with the comfort and convenience of the living environment in mind. In addition to the inner courtyard of the multi-scene operation mode, each dormitory room has a balcony with a wide view, forming a three-dimensional scene with rich space. The spatial language of the outer corridor continues the warm colors of the façade to create a warm entrance environment.

Accelerate innovation and empower the environment
Scenarios are based on people, and each scene is an ecology. Through the integration of production, life and ecology, FTA Architectural Design and Zhangjiang have built an innovative production base for high-end medical devices. By focusing on scenarios, solve the pain points of the biomedical industry. Empower the environment to improve the work efficiency and quality of life of researchers, and then accelerate innovation.
It is not only a gathering area of high-end medical devices, but also a smart park that integrates innovation and life. Design is not only about solving immediate needs, but also about anticipating future possibilities.
