Electric water heater is an indispensable appliance in many people's homes, and many people will buy one for their home. However, it is recommended that you do not blindly start with the electric water heater, and you can see if these 7 conditions are met before buying, otherwise you will not be able to install it when you buy it.
1. Suitable installation space
Electric water heaters need to be installed where there is enough space, usually considering the size and shape of the water heater. There is also some space around the perimeter, mainly to facilitate maintenance. Generally speaking, 10cm is reserved for the left side and bottom, and 30cm is reserved for the right side (the access port of the water heater is usually on the right side).
2. Power cord and socket requirements
The power cord size must meet the requirements, usually the copper wire with a power cord diameter of at least 4mm² to withstand the power demand of the electric water heater. The socket must be a 16A three-prong socket and must be equipped with a properly grounded ground wire for safety.
3. Tap water pressure
Electric water heaters need tap water pressure within a certain range, usually about 0.15MPa. If the water pressure is too low, you may need to choose a low-pressure electric water heater.
4. Drain drainage pipes safely
There should be a reliable floor drain in the installation environment to allow for drainage and prevent damage caused by water leakage
5. Wall structure and load-bearing capacity
The thickness of the installation wall should be greater than 10cm to ensure that the electric water heater can be mounted securely. For electric water heaters with a capacity of more than 80L, even if it is a load-bearing wall, it needs to be equipped with additional pylons to enhance stability.
6. Safety protection measures
The electrical outlets in the bathroom should be equipped with a waterproof box to prevent safety problems caused by water splashes. The power supply must have reliable grounding or anti-leakage protection device.
7. Comply with the specified use environment
The installation environment should be dry and ventilated, and no corrosive gases exist. Water and sunlight should not come into direct contact with the electric water heater to ensure its safety and longevity.
