Recently, after the appraisal of the Animal and Plant Inspection and Quarantine Technology Center of Shenzhen Customs, Luohu Customs seized 21 live corals tied by passengers in the entry channel of passenger inspection, which are polyps and lithocorals, which are endangered animals in Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
When supervising inbound passengers, the customs officers of Luohu Customs found that a passenger had not declared to the customs when passing through the customs declaration desk, and looked nervous and behaved abnormally, so he was immediately intercepted and inspected. Upon inspection, a specially sewn pocket was found in the mezzanine of the black shorts worn by the person, and 6 bags of water-containing plastic bags were hidden in the pocket, which contained a total of 21 live corals.
