Recently, after identification, Luohu Customs seized the corals tied to the passengers' bodies through the entry channel of the Luohu Port Passenger Inspection, which are endangered wild animals of the order Polyps and Stony Corals, which are Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
When a passenger entered the country through the passenger inspection hall of Luohu Port, he looked nervous and behaved abnormally, and the customs officer immediately stopped him for inspection. After investigation, customs officers found a total of 62 endangered corals tied with a special black belt on the waist of the person, with a total weight of 526.5 grams.
Customs reminds: According to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, the Law on the Protection of People's Republic of China Wild Animals, and the Regulations on the Administration of the Import and Export of People's Republic of China Endangered Wild Fauna and Flora, except for the legal possession of the Certificate of Permitted Import and Export or the species certificate, it is forbidden to trade, carry or mail endangered species and their products into and out of the country, and if the circumstances are serious and constitute a crime, criminal responsibility will be investigated in accordance with the law.
