In 302, Li Te proclaimed himself an envoy, a metropolitan governor, and a general of Zhenbei.

In 303 AD, Li Te led an army to attack Chengdu and was unfortunately killed. His brother Li Liu continued to lead the displaced people in battle, and died of illness the following year. Later, Li Xiong, the son of Li Te, took over as the chief, and in the same year Li Xiong attacked Chengdu, and in October he proclaimed himself the king of Chengdu, and in 306 he was proclaimed emperor, with the name cheng, and the history was called Chenghan.

In 334, Li Xiong fell ill and died, leaving his brother's son Li Ban to succeed to the throne, and a few months later Li Xiong's son Li Ban killed Li Ban to stand on his own. In 338, Li Shou, the son of Li Jun, killed Li Qi and established himself as emperor. Li Shou occupied Chengdu and changed the country to Han, changed the Yuan Hanxing (338-343) and minted "Hanxing" small coins, Hanxing money is not named after the weight unit, which is the earliest year number money in the history of Chinese coins. After Li Shou's death, his son Li Shi succeeded to the throne and killed on a large scale, and the country's power was even weaker.

In 347, Huan Wen, the ruler of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, led an army to attack Chenghan, li Shi surrendered, and the remnants of Chenghan were completely wiped out by the Eastern Jin Dynasty in 349.
