Pregnant women in Samarkand give birth to rare two-headed baby girls

The Detailed News Agency quoted Uzbekistan's STV TV channel news report that a pregnant woman in Samarkand State gave birth to a two-headed conjoined baby girl.

On 27 June, a woman at the Perinatal Centre in Samarkand gave birth to her next two-headed conjoined baby girl by caesarean section. The two-headed baby girl has a torso, a heart, two lungs, a stomach and a uterus. It is a relatively rare conjoined infant.

The baby girl is currently being treated in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Samarkand State Children's Integrated Medical Center. According to doctors, the chances of such conjoined babies are low, with only one such exception occurring in about 200,000 newborns.

Doctors at the Samarkand State Children's Integrated Medical Centre said: "The conjoined baby girl was transferred to the Children's Medical Centre two days after birth, and the newborn had symptoms of shortness of breath and heart failure. Now, her condition has been put in critical condition. ”

The double-headed conjoined baby girl weighs 4600 grams at birth and is 48 centimeters tall.
