Albert Marquet (1875-1947) was born in Bordeaux, France, and in his youth he studied painting with Matisse and always maintained a friendship with Matisse, he never pleased the interests of the audience, refused all titles, medals and honors, lived in a simple and decent quiet, painting for himself, never paying attention to critics and collectors, not pleasing anyone, his works as his personality.

He is considered to be the earliest Fauvist painter, and because he followed Corot and Courbet and was influenced by Japanese painting, he was also a realist painter. Most of his works depict ordinary French urban and rural landscapes and scenes of ordinary citizens living and leisure, so Matisse called him "our Katsushika Hokusai".

He always depicts landscapes with natural light, real colors and ordinary perspective, and the colors in his paintings are uniform and clear, winning with harmony, balance, sturdiness and stability, whether it is a rural mountain or an urban beach, revealing a tranquil atmosphere, even under the scorching sun.
