The "Draft History of the Qing Dynasty" says that he painted Huangshan Mountain as "the victory of the change of extreme smoke clouds", from which you can feel Mei Qing's painting style and have a sense of agility like smoke clouds.
Mei Qing's picture is always so light and shadowy, which can not only fully display the rugged and strange mountains of Huangshan, but also not fall into the clichés, creating a kind of pine and beautiful, unworldly realm, and the pen and ink mood is quite dreamy.
However, Mei Qing, who had painted huangshan for most of his life, did not climb huangshan for the first time until he was fifty-six years old.

As early as the first twenty years ago in the Huangshan Mountains, Mei Qing had the feeling of "seeing the Yellow Sea in his dreams and worrying about the remaining thirty years".

Mei Qing and his friend Shi Tao are also masters of painting Huangshan, and they share the reputation of "Huangshan Sect Giants". In the early days, Shi Tao's landscape was influenced by Mei Qing, and later Shi Tao specialized in Huangshan, and in his later years he used his pen to indulge and ink the ink, and Mei Qing was in turn influenced by him.
When he saw the wonders of Huangshan Mountain in Shi Tao's pen, Mei Qing's yearning for Huangshan became more and more intense. He said, "Heaven is close to the rest of the dream, carrying wine to find immortals and a staff is light", and this longing heart will overflow.
In June 1678, in the scorching heat of the year, Mei Qing braved the heat to climb the Huangshan Mountain where his soul was haunted for the first time, and carefully recorded the "Huangshan Ji Travel Poems One Hundred Rhymes", recording in detail the route of the trip and the scenery seen on the way.
Mei Qing and his friends walked together, from Xianyuan into songgu, saw Wangxian Peak, Cuiwei Peak, Yunmen Peak, Han Han Peak and many other famous scenes, and then went to the Guangming Peak, Lotus Peak, Wenshu Monastery, and in the middle were all entertained by the local abbot.

Mei Qing wrote more than thirty poems during the tour, and the scenic spots he saw appeared frequently in paintings since then, which shows that this trip to Huangshan was very fruitful.
After a one-time tour of the large and small attractions of Huangshan Mountain, Mei Qing was even a little unfinished when he wanted to leave a few days later.
Two years later, Mei Qing came again, and he recorded in the "Second Year Poem of Wei Geng": "At noon, there was occasionally a covenant of Xin'an, from Shacheng to Yanxi and Qianxi, and the gardens were surrounded by mountains and forests. ”
Originally, he was with a group of people to travel the mountains, and in the end, only he and another person accompanied him to start his second trip to Huangshan Mountain, and this was also Mei Qing's last time.
