The Daily Star reported on December 5 that red liquid was discharged from a drainage ditch next to a secret prison in Burundi, East Africa, and blood from suspected prisoners was discharged. It is understood that this is the imprisonment of those who oppose the existing regime in Burundi.

Back in 2016, a walled house near the country's capital, Bujumbura, was used as a prison for prisoners.

In 2015, Burundian President Pierre Nkurunziza reportedly decided to run for a third term as re-elected president, violating the Constitution if re-elected, sparking protests.

After that, hundreds of people were killed in the violence. Although opposition leaders boycotted the vote, Nkurunziza was elected.

The BBC's Eye of Africa featured an interview with a man who had been held in the house. Previously, the house was rumored to be the "House of the Dead".

Pierre, who did not reveal his real name, claimed to have been captured and said guards would beat prisoners with cables and crutches. If someone tried to escape, the guards would shout, "Catch those dogs, don't let them run away."

Pierre continued: "When they caught the escapees, I could hear them (prisoners) screaming in horror, they were either killed or tortured in pain, they didn't come back at any time, I think they were killed. Another man, Nathan, confirmed that Pierre had been held in the house.

Pierre said he also found a bathroom drain that was connected to a drainage ditch, and after the prisoners were taken to prison, red liquid flowed out of the drain, and the picture was filmed. The BBC asked the Burundian authorities about the matter, but received no formal response.
