Characteristics of the crime

Montag. John. Trudd (15 August 1857 – 1 December 1888)
After becoming a lawyer, he served as a teacher at a private school from 1881 to 21 November 1888.
He is also a well-known athlete and amateur cricketer.
For unknown reasons, he made his last appearance at a school in Blackheath on 19 November 1888 and was declared missing two days later.
On 31 December 1888, his body was found floating on the River Thames, and examination revealed that his body had sunk to the bottom of the river for weeks due to large stones in his pockets, so the police deduced that he had committed suicide by throwing himself into the river in frustration. Because his disappearance and death were not far from the fifth homicide, and the homicide did not occur after his death, many investigators at the time thought he was the ripper.
