On August 13, in the Fengyu town section of Ziyang, Sichuan, Tuojiang, two girls were washed away while playing in the water. After receiving a call for help, three passers-by who were preparing to go fishing rescued one of the girls. But as of about 7 p.m. that night, another girl who was washed away has not been found, and rescuers will search further.
The scene of the incident
One of the girls was rescued by Xiao Feng and two of his friends, who told Red Star News that they had gone fishing from Chengdu to Fengyu Town that day. At about 16:00, when they were preparing for a shoal in this section of the Tuojiang River, someone suddenly came to call for help.
"I haven't gone down yet, I just got to that river beach, and there was a woman who said that two girls rushed down." Xiao Feng said that immediately, they found that one girl was still floating on the surface, and the other girl was washed away.
To this end, the three rushed down, jumped into the TuoJiang River, and rescued the girl who was floating on the surface of the water about 20 meters from the shore. "When we rushed down, the girl was almost dead, and called us to save her." After rescuing a girl, Xiao Feng and the others were ready to turn around and look for another girl, but they were missing. "Maybe because the water is more urgent, the sun is bigger, and we don't have that physical fitness, so we swim back."
Xiao Feng also said that they told the villagers to call the police quickly. Soon after, the police and firefighters of the police station rushed to the scene to search and rescue. "The girl who was rescued was probably a fourteen or fifteen-year-old junior high school student." Xiao Feng said that the girl who was washed away was playing in the shallow water by the river, maybe after rushing out, when she arrived at the backwater Tuo, she could not come back. "That backwater tuo, we went down, almost can't get up, a little difficult."
At about 7 p.m. that night, a relevant person in charge of the Fengyu Town Government confirmed that two girls were washed away when three junior high school girls met to play in a shoal on the Tuojiang River. After rescue, only one of them was rescued. As of about 19:00, another girl has not been found, and rescuers will search further.
The person in charge also said that there was a shoal at the scene, and in view of the situation that there were many people playing with water, the town and village set up warning signs at the scene, and the village cadres also went to persuade them, but many people did not listen. To this end, he also reminded everyone to take good care of the children at home and not to swim in the river.
