This year, Zhao Zhuo was actually only 55 years old, saying that he was not young, saying that he was not old, but as an emperor, it was the golden age of being rich and powerful, and it was the golden period of the officials, and moreover, he served as empress dowager, and he still lived for 25 years, which also showed that he was in good health at that time, which can be said to be very good.
So, if it is not a physical reason, what is he abdicating for? This is because after Zhao jian established the Southern Song Dynasty, he has always taken peace with Jin as a foreign policy, and peace is to bend the knee at the cost of selling land, money and dignity, as the head of a country, he naturally faces a lot of criticism and accusations, plus he also killed a hero Yue Fei, who had a great influence on the government and the opposition, so that his reputation in the government and the opposition was damaged, and his heart was naturally entangled.
At the same time, shortly before his abdication, a small Chincha Yu Yunwen, because he was ordered to the front line of the division, temporarily organized a blockade battle against the Jin lord Yan Liang's crossing of the Yangtze River at Quarry Rock, and unexpectedly defeated Yan Liang. In the past, it was because he was afraid of Jin Bing, so he endured humiliation and sought peace, but Yu Yunwen, a civilian official, was able to organize an army to defeat a strong enemy, which made Zhao Zhuo doubt his own policies, coupled with the high anti-Jin sentiment in the DPRK and China. In this multi-faceted attack and inner shame, Zhao Zhao sighed and handed over the throne to his adopted son.
After Emperor Xiaozong of Song ascended the throne, although he was supreme, he had a Taishang Emperor above him, and in his throne, it was difficult to seek his own government, and he made decisions to be controlled everywhere. For example, he was unwilling to be reluctant and steal peace, hoping to recover the Central Plains and restore the rivers and mountains, and often mentioned the "Northern Expedition" to the Emperor Taishang. At first, Zhao Zhuo didn't say anything, thinking that he was just young and vigorous. Later, seeing that Zhao Yun was using the main warriors, rubbing his fists and actively preparing for the war, the Emperor Taishang became angry and said, "You still have to wait for me after a hundred years" and then consider the Northern Expedition!" ”
Song Xiaozong served as emperor for 27 years, but 25 of them were still alive and became his emperor. In the past 25 years, Song Xiaozong could not do big things, and could not do small things, and suffered from the bird spirit of having office and no power. Therefore, after Zhao Zhao's death, he only worked for 2 years, then he gave up his seat to his son and became the emperor himself.
He succeeded Emperor Xiaozong of Song by his son Zhao Huan. In the sixteenth year of Chunxi (1189), Song Xiaozong Zen was located in him, and changed Yuan Shaoxi to Song Guangzong. Unlike his father and grandfather, Song Guangzong Zen is located in the son, not voluntarily, but forced. Song Guangzong's empress Li Fengniang was very jealous, not only Song Guangzong was afraid, but even Song Xiaozong also had a big headache for this daughter-in-law, plus Song Guangzong had a mental illness, although he managed a country, but in fact, he could not manage a family well.
Later, Song Xiaozong died, and Song Guangzong disposed of the absurd, in this case, in 1194, Zhao Ruyu, Han Nongxin and other ministers, with the support of Empress Dowager Wu, concealed Song Guangzong and passed the throne to his son Zhao Kuo, who was Song Ningzong.
