"Two Horses" was created by Mr. Lao She in the United Kingdom. The story tells the story of a Chinese father and son, an old horse and a pony, who travel to London, England, and develop feelings for two British women, the landlord, Mrs. Wendu, and her daughter. Lao She uses humorous brush and ink to depict the situation of the old horse and the pony in London, as well as the ridiculous love story between the two horses and the mother and daughter of Wendu. By depicting the life and emotional experience of "Erma", this work presents the collision of different social cultures, the spiritual outlook of the times of small people, and criticizes the decadent traditional ideas of backwardness and lack of enterprising.

The remake drama "Erma" is directed by Li Ye, and as a senior fan of Mr. Lao She, he admits that the pressure of adaptation coexists with happiness. After a large number of desk work, he made it clear that he carried out in-depth excavation of the text content, the shaping of the original character image, and the high restoration of the original content as the creative goal, and explored the insight and perception of life behind Mr. Lao She's works.

Ning Wentong, who plays Lao Ma, has been an actor for more than thirty years, and through the shaping of many classic roles, he has long become an "old acquaintance" of the audience. From Uncle Dada in the early TV series "Kiss Me, Teacher", to Ji Wang in "Langya List" in recent years, Lao Yan in "Ode to Joy", and Deputy Director Bai in "I Am Yu Huanshui". In "Two Horses", the old horse he portrayed cherished his face in embarrassment, adhered to the "philosophy of life" of "cannot be tacky", and pursued hard-won love.

Mrs. Wen Du is played by Cui Yi, an actress of the National Theatre of China, who has starred in many popular dramas such as "Do You Know If It Should Be Green Fat Red Skinny", "Mr. Love", "An Jia" and so on, in "Erma", whether it is the high-spirited at the beginning or the gentleness and cuteness after accepting the old horse, Cui Yi has interpreted it to the fullest.

Director Li Ye himself is also a performer, and has had wonderful performances in dramas such as "Copenhagen", "Old House", "That Year I Learned to Drive", "Youth Forbidden Game" and other works. While serving as the director of the remake of "Erma", Li Ye will also play Pastor Yi.

According to the North Performing Arts Company, the re-rehearsal of "Erma" is intended to form the dissemination and exchange of regional language and culture through the use of drama, hoping to attract more young people to watch the performance and enter the theater to experience the charm of theater art.
