The design of "Sun Moon Shell" is inspired by the famous painting "The Birth of Venus", Venus, the goddess of love and beauty, was born from the shell, plus the Sun moon shell is only unique to the Pearl River Delta, so there is the concept of sun and moon shell. ”
According to Jin Guohong, chief engineer of the design office of the Beijing Architectural Design Institute, the designer of the opera house project, the Zhuhai opera house will use the daylight processing outside the building to form a certain amount of energy to reduce the cost of indoor air conditioning, and low-carbon environmental protection will become a special research topic in the deepening design of the opera house to reduce costs and energy consumption.
The designer of the municipal museum and planning exhibition hall, German GMP Architects Stiefen Schütz, said that the "two halls" design will adapt to a variety of climatic conditions in Zhuhai, the façade will use enclosed space as much as possible, the wall treatment should use as little glass as possible to reduce the energy consumption of air conditioning, in addition, the "two halls design" will start the "solar energy plan", making full use of the characteristics of Zhuhai's long sunshine time, and using solar energy as a clean energy source to achieve "low-carbon environmental protection".
The design of the Municipal Cultural Center is "determined by the function of the form", which maximizes the limited use of space, reduces energy consumption by connecting the building to the mountain and greening the roof, and builds the "harp" into an energy-saving and environmentally friendly building.
