Husband Chen Jue, born in 1907, is a native of Liling, Hunan. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1925 and was martyred on October 14, 1928, at the age of 21.
His wife, Zhao Yunxiao, was born in 1906 in Fuping, Hebei. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1925 and died on March 26, 1929, at the age of 23.
Orphan of martyrs: Chen Qiming, female, born on February 11, 1929 in Changsha Army Prison, died in 1932.
In September 1925, Chen Jue and Zhao Yunxiao went to Moscow to study at Sun Yat-sen University, and because of their like-mindedness, they became revolutionary couples. In September 1927, Chen Jue and Zhao Yunxiao returned to the motherland and, under the leadership of the party organization, engaged in revolutionary activities in the northeast and Liling in Hunan. In the spring of 1928, Chen Jue was appointed as a special commissioner of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Zhao Yunxiao was transferred to the Hunan Provincial Party Committee to work and was appointed to participate in the formation of the Xiangnan Special Committee of the Communist Party of China. In September of that year, Zhao Yunxiao, who was pregnant, was arrested for sabotage of the CCP's Hunan Provincial Committee for informing traitors, and in October, Chen Jue was arrested in Changde while presiding over the CCP's Xiangxi Special Committee. Although both were imprisoned in the Changsha Army Prison, they were close to the end of the world and could not meet. The husband and wife were subjected to coercion and torture in prison, and they never gave in. On October 14, 1928, Chen Jue failed to see his child alive and was heroic and righteous, only 21 years old.
Just 4 days before the sacrifice, Chen Jue wrote a letter to his wife Zhao Yunxiao, which was full of revolutionary heroism and deep concern for his wife and children, infinite gratitude to his parents and sincere thoughts.

Because Zhao Yunxiao was pregnant, her death sentence was postponed for 5 months. One day in February 1929, Zhao Yunxiao gave birth to his daughter, Qiming, in prison. On March 26, 1929, Zhao Yunxiao shed tears for his daughter for the last time, calmly walked out of the cell, and was executed at the age of 23.
Two days before the inauguration, Zhao Yunxiao left a letter to his daughter Qiming, telling her husband and his own reluctance to his daughter, and performing a touching family song.
