In order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, this series of documentaries produced by the Film and Television Drama Documentary Center of the General Taiwan Station and produced by CCTV Records International Media Co., Ltd. was selected as a support project for the network audio-visual quality project of the State Administration of Radio and Television. The film takes revolutionary cultural relics as the main narrative carrier, excavates the stories of cultural relics users, donors and protectors, records the glorious course of the CPC in the past century through scene reproduction, hand-painted animation and other artistic means, and carries forward the original mission of the CPC to seek happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation.

The 20 episodes of the documentary "Shining Memories" are 5 minutes each, from Chen Duxiu's Peking University letter of appointment, Li Dazhao's rattan chair, the first translation of the Chinese "Communist Manifesto" to the whistle of the third workers' armed uprising in Shanghai, from Chen Jue and Zhao Yunxiao's pen before their execution to xie Zhijian's hydrangea shoes of the Red Army, from the radio repair tools of the red agent Li Bai to the five-star red flag made by the revolutionary martyrs in the White Mansion... Through one "revolutionary cultural relics" after another, this film searches for the individual memories left by the martyrs in the vast historical materials, so that the cultural relics can adhere to the truth, adhere to the ideals, practice the original intention, undertake the mission, not be afraid of sacrifice, heroic struggle, and be loyal to the party and live up to the great spirit of party building.

Another example is the red legend of Zhang Renya's father and son guarding their original heart for two generations. Zhang Jingquan, also known as Zhang Renya, joined the Communist Party of China in November 1922. After the outbreak of the "April 12 Counter-Revolutionary Coup" in 1927, Zhang Renya risked his life to secretly return a large bag of precious party books and newspapers to his hometown, Xianan Village, Xiapu Town, Ningbo, and entrusted it to his father Zhang Jueqian for preservation. In order to protect these documents, the father built an empty tomb to hide the documents, claimed that his son was dead, and spent the rest of his life guarding his son's communist beliefs, and 36 kinds of documents, including the first party constitution of the Communist Party of China, have survived to this day.

The series deeply excavates the stories of "sacrifice", "commitment", "mission" and "faith" behind cultural relics, and achieves the ability to see people, things and spirits in a grounded and close to the expression of youth. "Shining Memories" freezes us one touching historical "moment" after another. Shortly after his brother left, Zhang Shiliang was arrested by the Kuomintang, and in the face of days of poisoning and torture, he never revealed any news to the enemy. After being released, Zhang Shiliang began a long wait, but the man holding the five-pointed star never came. In 1984, Zhang Shiliang fell seriously ill, and he was worried that he did not have much time, so he decided to let his family take out the jinban and donate it to the Xinxian people's government. Such a story, because of the fullness of details, makes people see the light of promise in the bloody rain.

It is reported that the whole film of "Shining Memory" lasted more than a year from planning creativity to filming and production, traveled tens of thousands of kilometers, the film crew rushed to many museums in China, in-depth interviews with the descendants of revolutionary martyrs, after repeated selection and in-depth excavation, identified 20 red stories, and invited a group of domestic party history experts to guide and check. In the end, the series condenses the blue wisps of the century-old Yanlu Road into a frame of lens pictures, brings the red cultural relics into the coordinates of the century-old time, measures the process of the party's history of the torrents and courageous advances, carries forward the great spirit formed by the party and the people in the course of struggle through the historical information carried by the cultural relics, and allows the broad audience, especially the young people, to draw great spiritual strength from it, which is a vivid "open lesson" in the history of the Chinese revolution.
