Jian Dashi, a Taiwanese anti-Japanese hero, together with Ke Tiehu and Lin Shaomao, is known as the "Three Heroes of Anti-Japanese Resistance". His real name is Jian Zhonghao, and his ancestral home is Changjiao Village, Nanjing, Zhangzhou. After Zheng successfully expelled Heyi, the Changjiao Jian clan crossed the taiwan to make a living, and the ancestors of Jian Dashi settled in Tamsui County. When Jian Dashi was born, it was already a chaotic era at the end of the Qing Dynasty, but his family was still relatively well-off. When he was young, he returned to his ancestral home with his clan relatives to worship his ancestors, and it coincided with the opening of a martial arts hall at the Jian Ancestral Hall, inviting martial arts masters to teach the children of the clan to practice martial arts and strengthen their bodies. Jian Dashi was tall and strong, and was interested in martial arts, so he stayed behind to learn martial arts.

Jian Dashi has great strength, there are two stone lions at the entrance of the ancestral hall, ordinary people can't move, he can lift up and go around the ancestral hall for a week. The crowd called him stronger than a lion, so he changed his name to "Jane the Lion". After leaving the school, Jian Dashi knife, gun and stick were exquisite, and began to perform on the streets in Zhangzhou and Xiamen, and became famous. Later, he returned to Tamsui, Taiwan to recruit apprentices and teach art, and his reputation was very high. After the defeat of the Qing Dynasty in the Sino-Japanese War, the Qing government ceded Taiwan to Japan. When the bad news came out, it was like a thunderbolt on a sunny day, and the whole country was indignant and opposed to cutting off the land and seeking peace.

The people of Taiwan launched a struggle against the cession of Taiwan, and Jian Dashi repeatedly plotted to enter Beijing to assassinate Li Hongzhang, but he was persuaded by his relatives and friends to stop him and did not do so. Subsequently, the Japanese invaders stepped into Taiwan with iron hooves, and the northern region suffered first. The Japanese burned and plundered, and did no evil, and the Jane Dashi family suffered greatly. In December 1895, Jian Dashi rebelled in Tamsui, and he led more than 600 righteous people to attack Taipei City. The Taiwan compatriots in the city rose up in response, and the two sides launched a fierce battle in Hachiko Town, with more than 300 Japanese casualties, and then because the Japanese army received reinforcements, Jian Dashi and others fought until they ran out of ammunition and retreated. Jian Dashi's anti-Japanese righteous deeds were quickly echoed by the people of Taiwan, and the rebels repeatedly inflicted heavy blows on the Japanese.

May 8, 1897, was the last day that the Japanese authorities forcibly stipulated that Taiwan compatriots should choose their nationality. On the same day, Jian Dashi and others led more than 5,000 people to attack Taipei again, fighting for one day and killing thousands of Japanese. Under extremely difficult conditions, Jian Dashi led the anti-Japanese rebel army, relying on the northern mountainous areas, and insisted on armed struggle for more than three years. The Japanese went to persuade them to surrender, and Jian Dashi killed the Japanese emissaries on the spot. The angry Japanese army was unable to clear and suppress, and the military and police were mixed into the fourteenth road into the mountains to encircle and suppress, and Jian Dashi could not gain a foothold in Taiwan. In early 1899, Jian Dashi crossed Zhangzhou in an attempt to make a comeback.

After the Japanese Kou learned of this news, they coerced the Qing court to encircle and suppress it, and Jian Dashi was not captured by the Japanese army, but was captured by the Qing army and extradited to Taiwan. When Jian Dashi was detained in xiamen, he once angrily stated: "The Japanese are rude, repeatedly go to a certain house to provoke, and rape their wives and daughters. My wife died, my sister died, my sister-in-law and mother died, a family of more than ten people, only a few sons and nephews remained, and they were killed again. Because of this hatred, more than 10,000 people were gathered to embarrass the Japanese... Born as a citizen of the Great Qing, die as a ghost of the Great Qing, do not give up to the Japanese, and you must not be blind when you die. ”

However, the corrupt and traitorous Qing government still gave the Jian Dashi twist to the Japanese. On June 22, 1902, after being tortured in Taiwan, Jian Dashi was brutally murdered by the Japanese. After the murder of Jian Dashi, the whole country was shocked and the people were angry. A Wujin soldier surnamed Qian wrote a poem in grief and indignation: "When the hero is drained of blood, the sea tide mountain embraces the weeps of the dragon." He passed on the history of the country loyally and righteously, and did not forget the Taiwanese Jian Da lion. ”
