"My Yuexiu Mountain Story" Essay Selection: Millennium Dragon Vein Yuexiu Mountain

It was one day a few years ago, and I was walking alone on Mount Yuexiu. It was a midsummer dusk, the sun had set in the west, and the light was slowly dimming. Like every time I come to Yuexiu Mountain, I always guess while walking, where is the Yuewangtai? Where is Kabuoka? Where is Yushan Tower? Where is Huluan Road?

It was getting darker. I was still standing, waiting for dark. I love Yuexiu Mountain at night. Eight views of Yangcheng in the Yuan Dynasty, one of which is "Yuetai Autumn Moon", which shows the Yuexiu Mountain at night, and indeed has another weather. However, some people also questioned the desolation of the Yuexiu Mountains in the Yuan Dynasty, the wild beasts were infested, and in the Ming Dynasty, there were poets who described the night of Yuexiu Mountain as follows: "The autumn wind rises on the platform, and the domineering spirit still exists; the moon is full of sky, and the miserable qing leads to the roar of the ape." "Who dares to go up yuexiu mountain at night?" In fact, at that time, there were still many pavilions and temples on the mountain, which were not completely deserted. As for the appearance of wild beasts, it is not surprising that the poem is written only a few apes, and I also saw in the newspapers of 1941 that there were reports of tigers in Sanyuanli, Xiatang and Shahe in Guangzhou, injuring people, and taking a girl to the mountain to eat.

Deep in my brain, all the memories of Mount Yuexiu, the pieces that excite me, belong to the night. I love Yuexiu Mountain in the hazy night. The far horizon is hazy, only neon flashing everywhere, but there is no Pearl River home. The breeze is gusting, the silence is silent, the street lights are dim, and there are few pedestrians. Each trail leads into the deep woods. The huge silhouette of Zhenhai Tower sets off the dark and stagnant night sky background, only at this time can it wash away the kitsch of the daytime as a tourist attraction, showing the old and majestic momentum.

In 2002 and 2011, the Eight Views of Yangcheng, Yuexiu Mountain were all on the list, in 2002 it was named "Yuexiu Xinhui" and in 2011 it was named "Yuexiu Fenghua". In fact, since the Yuan Dynasty, the eight views of Yangcheng have been indispensable to Yuexiu Mountain. Yuetai Autumn Moon in the Yuan Dynasty, Yuexiu Songtao in the Ming Dynasty, Zhenhai Floor in the Qing Dynasty, Yuexiu Yuanyuan in 1963, Yuexiu Floor in 1986. The names of the past generations are very specific, and they will understand it when they hear it, but "Xinhui" does not understand, literally, "the new sunshine of Yuexiu Mountain", I don't know what is special? Maybe I, who prefer the night of Yuexiu Mountain, can't appreciate the beauty of "Xinhui".

However, if you don't understand it, you don't understand it. These questions are left to the tour operator's guides to use their imaginations. Although the years have passed, what can still show the magic power between my mind, consciousness and memory is not its "new hui", nor the scene switching between the new eight scenes and the old eight scenes, but the side that is covered with scars and records the wind and frost of the years.

The most famous thing on Yuexiu Mountain is Yuewangtai. But where is the Yue Wang Tai? This is also the question that often arises when I travel across the Xiushan Mountains. The Northern Song Dynasty poet Tang Geng once had such a moving depiction of the environment of YueWangtai: "Taipei is based on the mountains, south of the creek Hengpu, the water of mu mu, and the spokes are under it." Gu Zhan, then the mountains in the middle of the country do not invite themselves; but if they look forward to it, the overseas countries can be covered as if they are between the mist and mist. The sigh of "the vastness of the giant sea" can be described as the same thing, reminding me of another poem of Tang Geng: "Outside the residual light, the great river flows." Go yo-yo. The wind is sad and landu, the smoke is faint and the waves are light, where the flat boat is. "Probably it can also be used as a portrayal of the distant view of the YuewangTai."

It is generally believed that the former site of Yue WangTai should be at the current Sun Yat-sen Monument. I have never studied it, so I dare not comment, but from the sentence "Taipei according to the mountain", it seems that it is not at the top of the mountain, but in the middle of the waist, but built on the mountain. During the Kangxi Dynasty, yuewangtai was abandoned day by day, leaving only a pile of broken stones covered by decaying grass, which was ignored except for the occasional patronage of a few literati rioters. In the Daoguang years, it was completely annihilated, and it was nowhere to be found. Just as the so-called "think of the Qin Palace Han Que, have done the decaying grass cattle and sheep wild, do not hesitate to fish the tree has nothing to say."

To this day, when people write history, they still can't jump out of the frame of the emperor's generals. Helplessly, the ancient classics and documents that people can see today, the costumes and cultural relics, are all left by the emperor and the noble room, even if we look at the rare treasures in the tomb of the Yue King, praise the skilled craftsmen of that year, in fact, it is just to confirm the luxury of the emperor's family, where can we find half a record of the lives of these craftsmen?

Speaking of the luxury of the imperial family, it is impossible not to mention the Liu dynasty of the Southern Han Dynasty. Guangzhou has rarely been the capital several times, and the Southern Han Dynasty is one of them. The "History of the History of the History of Guangzhou" published in 1924 said: "The historical sites of Guangzhou left over the centuries are the most numerous in the Southern Han Dynasty, and they are still in The Class of Yuban. But nearly 80 years have passed, and now I want to find the relics of the Southern Han in Guangzhou, and it is not so "class can be examined".

On Yuexiu Mountain, there was originally a "Huluan Road", which was dug by the Southern Han Emperor Liu Gong, and the mountain road was lined with chamomile and hibiscus, and the monarchs sang and danced in the flowers, threw pots and guessed coins, feasted and played, and happily raced the gods. At the western foot of Yuexiu Mountain and the side of Xianggang, there is an elegant and unique Fangchun Garden, where a large stream flows through the garden, which can be rowed, and the peach blossoms are sandwiched between the banks and stretch for miles. The fall is colorful, and the pieces of red and pink petals drift with the waves and drift across the flowing flower bridge. It is a good view of "the mountain spring is scattered around the steps, and the ten thousand trees and peach blossoms reflect the small building".

At first glance, it looks like a prosperous world of singing and dancing, but it is actually embattled, precarious, and happy when you have to be happy. Only fifty years after the founding of the country, the Southern Han Dynasty was destroyed by Song Taizu. Later generations called the Southern Han Dynasty "pseudo-Liu", and it seems that whether Guangzhou could be called the "capital" at that time also had a lot of room for discussion.

In the history of Guangzhou, there have been three short-lived partitions of the kingdom, one for the South Vietnamese State, once for the Southern Han Dynasty, and once for the Kuomintang regime in the 1920s. Some enthusiastic netizens reminded me that there should be a more short-lived one, that is, the Southern Ming Dynasty. The "Tomb of the Emperor" under the Xianggang Fort was buried by this Tang king of the Southern Ming Dynasty. However, the short life of that dynasty was negligible.

During the reign of Qing Shun, Emperor Ming Chongzhen was dead, Daming Jiangshan died 10, and a group of imperial relatives fled south to Guangdong. King Gui was proclaimed emperor in Zhaoqing, and King Tang was proclaimed emperor in Guangzhou, and for a time the two emperors stood side by side and attacked each other. "When the world dies, there will be a door to its development", it is not bad to say. Zhu Yuanzhang has such descendants, and it is unreasonable that Daming Jiangshan will not die. The Tang emperor claimed that the emperor was only a month old, and the Manchu Qing army descended from the sky, taking advantage of the infighting between the two emperors, sneaking in from the east gate of Guangzhou, and describing the scene of the robbery of the camp in the speech of the drum: "A cannon sounded, and the three soldiers and horses shouted and killed into the city", and the Tang king and his men were all hunted down, and Su Guansheng was also hanged in the midst of the rebellion.

Every time I came to Yuexiu Mountain, I always had to stop in front of the Ming Dynasty city wall and take a look. The northern city wall of Guangzhou, originally crossed from Yuexiu Mountain, was connected with Zhenhai Tower. Now completely demolished, only this section of the Ming Dynasty city wall remains, eroded by centuries of wind and rain, weathered and peeled off, crawling with tree roots, moss and ferns. I don't know how many times I put my ear to it, and it is said that I can hear the cries of the ghosts of hundreds of years ago, but I never hear anything. Walking on the broken leaves, it often feels as if there is an intimate soft language, and there seems to be a woman's weeping, faintly coming from the forest, mixed with the cries of insects in the grass. This kind of sound made me think about it again and again, and my dreams were suddenly shocked.

Unfortunately, whenever I traveled to Yuexiu Mountain at night, I was attracted by the sound of this kind of grass and trees, and when I stopped in the dark to listen, a security guard came over and politely advised me: "It is not safe here, go to a place with lights." "It was a real disappointment. In the daytime, Yuexiu Mountain returns to its splendid, bright, noisy and joyful appearance. Zhenhai Lou is also like a happy baby, and began to welcome the first batch of tourists. Zhenhai Lou during the day and Zhenhai Lou at night are two completely different feelings.

Zhenhai Tower was built in the Ming Dynasty, commonly known as five floors, has a history of 600 years, and is generally considered to be a coastal defense fortress. But when it was first completed, it was called Wanghai Tower, and from the name, it was more like a place to see the scenery, and it was not a military fortress. At that time, the Pearl River was mighty and mighty, and it must be spectacular when overlooked from the Wanghai Tower.

However, in addition to coastal defense and viewing, there are several other theories about the significance of building zhenhai towers. Some say it was built purely to add a landscape to the mountains to strengthen the view of Guangzhou; others say it was built on feng shui grounds; and another says it was to suppress the "royal qi" of Guangzhou. Qu Dajun's "Guangdong New Language" says: "Those who suppress the purple cloud and yellow qi are also different." ”

I prefer this last statement, it sounds like there are many stories. People say that the dynasty in the south of dingdu did not enjoy a long country, because Qin Shi Huang was pre-emptive and had already cut off all the dragon veins in the south. Guangzhou's Dragon Vein is in Ma'anshan, between Yuexiu Mountain and Baiyun Mountain, and is also part of Yuexiu Mountain. Qin Shi Huang heard that there was a "difference in yellow clouds and purple qi" here, and sent someone to chisel a large mouth of more than twenty zhang, shaped like a saddle, and cut off the dragon vein in Guangzhou, and it is said that when it was excavated, blood gushed underground for several days. This kind of barnyard official noshi is talked about by Chinese.

Since the dragon vein has been broken, isn't Zhenhai Lou superfluous? In fact, in history, although Guangzhou is known as the "Tianzi Nanku", it is also a heart disease that can never be erased by the emperors of all dynasties. A place far away from the emperor of the mountain can actually become the "Tianzi Nanku", which is a great worry in itself. Therefore, the richer it is here, the more the imperial court feels like it is on its back, and it is difficult to sleep and eat, so that it is necessary to build another five-story building to suppress the "royal qi" here.

During the Ming Dynasty, the five floors were destroyed by a fire, and after the reconstruction, there was more than one official name of Zhenhai Tower, and it was easy to "look" for "town", which began to be a bit murderous. By the end of the Ming Dynasty, the five floors were in disrepair. During the Kangxi Dynasty, Li Shizhen, the governor of Guangdong, rebuilt it and built a number of forts. It proves that the intention at that time was no longer to think of the ancient humor and make people remember the former dynasty, but to be built as a military fortress.

During the Opium War, the British warships lined Yangcheng, and it took only half a month to capture pazhou, Ershawei, Liide, Rhubarb Jiao, Fenghuanggang, Shuijing, Shamian, Haizhu, East Battery, Red Fort and other water fortresses. The imperial court sent Yishan, Longwen, and Yang Fang to Guangzhou to resist the enemy. According to ye shi records, in the eyes of these Chincha ministers, "the Cantonese people are all traitors, and the Cantonese soldiers are all thieves." Yishan ignored military affairs and flew kites on Yuexiu Mountain when he had time. Long Wen was so busy searching for calligraphy and painting antiques that he was free to travel in and out of the city, and trade was like a market. Yang Fang saw that the situation was not good, and went to the imperial court, listing eight reasons, indicating that Guangzhou was absolutely difficult to hold, one of which was that "the city wall is very thin". And he had another trick to resist the enemy, that is, to use the "women's drowning device" to resist the British artillery fire.

When the Heaven and Earth Society revolted, Ye Mingchen, the governor of Liangguang, commanded the defense of the city on the Zhenhai Tower, repelling the siege of 100,000 red turbans, like a general of the city. But then the British and French coalition forces invaded, or this famous general Ye Mingchen, who defended the city, encountered foreign soldiers, "no war, no peace, no defense, no death, no surrender, no departure", which was really strange. People say that nature has one thing and one thing, and it turns out that there is such a thing! Ye Mingchen was eventually captured by the Anglo-French army and went to India, and while drinking curry soup in Calcutta, he also thought of the Zhenhai Tower on Yuexiu Mountain, and wrote the poem "Zhenhai Lou is 100 feet cold, turning the star into a guest star list".

By the 1920s, Zhenhai Lou had become a crumbling and dangerous building, in 1928 Lin Yunxiao became the mayor of Guangzhou, scrapping the old and building a new one, rebuilding Zhenhai Lou in a big way, this time more thoroughly, building a new building on the old foundation, and turning the wooden building into a reinforced concrete building.

The reinforced concrete Zhenhai Building has no military significance, and the rest is probably the so-called "cultural relics significance". Although it looks much more solid and beautiful, it can only be viewed as a 1928 building, and it seems to have nothing to do with the five floors of hundreds of years ago, except for the same name and place.

Huang Jie, a poet who is one of the three great poets in Lingnan, wrote a poem entitled "Rebuilding the Zhenhai Lou", in which one of the texts is as follows: "When the building is not repaired, the ochre wall is green and smokey, and the ruined city of Guo is bad, haunting it." And its chengye, decorated with danluo, sweep away the annoyance, pan the horse road, dry clouds up. "If in order to hang nostalgia for the past, I would rather see its "building is not repaired" look, just imagine "the ochre wall is green and smokey, and the ruined city of Guo is bad", what a desolate and touching scenery.

After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the five floors of the Guangdong Provincial Museum were built, although at the beginning of the opening, the collection was very few, which did not match the name of "natural". The first floor is completely vacant; the second and third floors are set aside as the "Guangdong Provincial Victory Souvenir Museum", where twenty or thirty pieces of Japanese army guns, guns, steel helmets and the like are displayed for people to visit; on the fourth floor, there are some bird and animal specimens and ceramics from past dynasties; the fifth floor displays some calligraphy and paintings, as well as several pieces of jade Buddha, bells, drums and other cultural relics. That's all there is to it. But after all, it marks that this six-hundred-year-old ancient building has completed the transformation from a military fortress to a historical exhibition hall.
