Mr. Zhang Jun, Secretary General of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA), introduced the future development and priorities of BFA on the Global Urban and Rural Development Forum in Chengdu, China on 31st May.
Zhang Jun stated that BFA has always been dedicated to promoting economic cooperation and common development for Asia and the world since its establishment over 20 years ago. The world now is undergoing profound changes unseen in a century. Multilateralism and economic globalization suffer headwinds and setbacks. Sustainable development faces grave challenges. To build a community with a shared and better future is the common aspiration of the international community, and also the unremitting pursuit of the Forum. BFA is standing on a new starting point.
Zhang Jun said that, after extensive communication with directors, advisors and partners, the Forum reached great consensus on the future development and priorities. BFA dedicates to present wisdom and solutions for the common development of Asia and the World.
Zhang Jun emphasized that, with the strong support of Chinese leader and government as the host, under the leadership of the Board, and with the joint efforts of related partners, BFA will keep development oriented, focus on Asia while broadening global partnership, chart the course for development and generate concrete action in the spirit of openness and inclusiveness for the win-win and better future of Asia and beyond.
BFA will continue to focus on Asian cooperation as its main mission and purpose, build up the broadest consensus possible and synergize efforts for the common development.
BFA will stick to the multilateral approach in addressing global challenges, align its strategic priorities with the global agenda, and promote SDGs to the best we can.
BFA will expand and deepen partnership with members of the Boao Family and all stakeholders, produce more tangible out-come through down-to-earth coopera-tion.
BFA will continue to improve the quality, profile and influence of its events to build BFA into the platforum and bond for dialogue, cooperation, and trust.
BFA will do its best to elevate the Boao brand, keep the Boao voice heard by the broadest audience possible, present Boao solutions on regional and global issues, and come up with the Boao public goods that benefits its members, partners and stakeholders, to carry the BFA mission forward with greater vigor and vitality.
