In 1924, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, who was the father of the country at the time, decided to establish the Whampoa Military Academy to cultivate military talents for the Chinese revolution, since its inception, the first four phases of Huangpu have been full of talents, many outstanding generals have gone to the Kuomintang, and many students have gone to the Communist Party and become famous generals, such as Xu Xiangqian, Xiao Ke, Chen Geng, etc. Some famous generals have sacrificed on the revolutionary road, such as Chairman Mao's mouth, Wu Zhonghao.
Since the Whampoa Military Academy was founded with the support of the Communist Party and the Soviet Union, at the beginning of its establishment, Zhou Enlai, Ye Jianying, Nie Rongzhen, and others all taught at the Whampoa Military Academy, and how Yingqin and others in the Kuomintang also taught at the Whampoa Military Academy.
When He Yingqin led the teaching regiment to participate in the war, Wu Zhonghao was also in it, fighting bravely in the Northern Expedition, which impressed He Yingqin; when he gave a speech at the military academy, Wu Zhonghao was enthusiastic, full of fighting spirit for the revolution, and his infectious appearance made He Yingqin, who was watching from the stage, more favored, and after the end, He Yingqin found Wu Zhonghao and said: "When you graduate, come to our unit as an aide-de-camp." ”
There are not many Huangpu students who have just graduated and become deputies, at most they are only at the battalion level, which shows how popular Wu Zhonghao is, but He Yingqin does not know that since Wu Zhonghao met Mao Zedong at the Guangzhou Training Institute, he had a very close relationship with Mao Zedong, and even slept in a frugal environment.
Chairman Mao's thorough analysis of the situation in China at that time made this Huangpu high-caliber student admire him, and as time went on, he admired him more and more, so he said to Mao Zedong: "I will follow you in this life." Wu Zhonghao, who had always kept this promise in mind, obeyed Ye Jianying's arrangement after graduation and went to the Fourth Army of the National Revolutionary Army as a company commander, refusing the invitation of He Yingqin's aide-de-camp.
When Mao Zedong led the Xianggan border autumn harvest uprising, Wu Zhonghao rushed to Chairman Mao and served as the deputy regimental commander in the rebel army, the situation at that time was not optimistic, Yu Shandu and others in the case of military defeat, also asked to march into Changsha to attack the important cities of the nationalist army, and Wu Zhonghao resolutely supported Chairman Mao's strategy of turning to the countryside.
Since Lu Deming's sacrifice, relying on Wu Zhonghao and other generals to support Chairman Mao's strategy played a great role in the revolution at that time, and even to some extent, saved the Chinese revolution, and Wu Zhonghao's strategic thinking was also very suitable for the poor and white Red Army.
A large part of Chairman Mao's famous guerrilla tactical thinking comes from Wu Zhonghao, such as the classic tactic of "east and west, time and time together", which came from Wu Zhonghao, at that time, Wu Zhonghao's tactics preserved the strength of the Red Army and played a great role in the development and growth of the Red Army.
The establishment of the Jinggangshan base area is also inseparable from the birth and death of Wu Zhonghao, who fought fiercely hundreds of times and made countless achievements in battle; once, the troops were surrounded by the Nationalist army, and Chen Hao, the commander of his main regiment, wanted to lead his troops to surrender to the enemy, but fortunately, the sharp-eyed Wu Zhonghao discovered it early, which saved the Red Army and did not cause the army's morale to be seriously damaged.
Because of his outstanding military ability, Wu Zhonghao was promoted very quickly; since joining the army, he has risen to a higher level in two years, become the commander of the main regiment in two years, and in four years he has become the commander of the third column of the Red Fourth Army, and has become one of the famous three generals of Jinggangshan.
Wu Zhonghao's thinking always coincided with Chairman Mao's; when the Nationalist army besieged Jinggangshan, where did the Red Army go, Wu Zhonghao proposed to develop to the front line of Gannan where the enemy's forces were weak, and sure enough, the Red Army made immortal achievements in Gannan Province. ”
As far as Chairman Mao was concerned, Wu Zhonghao was not only his comrade-in-arms, but also regarded as the love of the younger generations; when Wu Zhonghao was ill, Chairman Mao was anxious, and he went to visit him many times, personally poured him tea and water, covered him with a quilt, and sometimes touched his forehead to see if there was any heat, and he and Chairman Mao had a very close relationship.
Regrettably, in October 1930, when Wu Zhonghao led a platoon through Anfu County, he was attacked by the enemy's JingWei regiment, Wu Zhonghao broke through halfway, ran out of ammunition, and was killed by the enemy regiment commander Luo Hangou, our army lost a good general, because of Wu Zhonghao's sacrifice, Chairman Mao was grief-stricken, locked himself in the room silently sad for several days, could not eat or sleep, if Wu Zhonghao can fight until the founding of the country, he must be a flickering general.
