Born on September 24, 1906 to a peasant family in Qinshui County, Jincheng City, Shanxi Province, Zhao Shuli worked as an apprentice in a pen shop in Henan province in his early years and sold Chinese herbal medicine from village to village. In 1920, Zhao Shuli was admitted to the mountain and completed the primary school. In 1923, Zhao Shuli graduated from primary school and went to teach in primary school, but because his education was too low, he was soon dismissed. His father borrowed money to let him study, and in the summer of 1925, Zhao Shuli was admitted to the Shanxi Provincial Changzhi Fourth Normal School. In the spring of 1929, Qinshui County recruited primary school teachers, and he ranked first and was assigned to teach at the high-paid Xiguan Model Primary School. After being unemployed, he stayed in Taiyuan, had no occupation, and sold literature for a living. Started literary creative activities. In 1937, he devoted himself to the anti-Japanese work and joined the Communist Party of China. In Shanxi, he engaged in various cultural affairs, edited newspaper supplements, and wrote many novels that reflected rural social life and were well received by the broad masses. Famous ones are "Little Two Black Marriage", "Li Youcai's Board Talk", the long novel "Three Mile Bay" and so on. From the spring of 1965 to the summer of 1966, Zhao Shuli served in Jincheng. He died at the age of 64.
