Star Wish Lake + Chuandi River N kinds of water are wonderful uses
The resort is celebrating its fifth anniversary, and the beauty of the four seasons is constantly in the memory. Entering the early autumn, whether it is a high sky or a hazy drizzle, Xingwan Lake, located in the Shanghai Disney Resort, has become more and more moving after experiencing the sweltering heat and typhoon season, with warblers flying grass on the lake and birds flying on the lake. The boundary of the core area of the resort is also water, and egrets fly over the Chuandi River and row boats. Rivers and lakes are connected, and the water veins are flexible, far more than just the existence of scenery.
The Shanghai International Tourism and Resorts Zone is bounded by the Chuandi River (called the "Paddock River" during construction, and is divided into the inner/ outer rings according to the orientation of the Chuandi East/South/West/North Rivers). The Zhaohang Village Bridge, Xueqiao Village Bridge, Jinjia village bridge and flagpole village bridge on the river are named after the four relocated natural villages, preserving and inheriting the local culture. Beyond the bridge is the future of the resort area that awaits quietly. Entering the inner circle, which is the core area of the Resort area dominated by the Shanghai Disney project, it seems to have begun to enter a joyful dreamland. The centerpiece of the dream, the sparkling Wishing StarLake, got its name from the classic line from the Disney animated film Pinocchio, "When you make a wish to the stars, your dreams come true."
This large artificial lake of Shanghai Disneyland, with an area of about 40 hectares and clear water, is a high-quality ecological resource of the resort. Along the lake is the Star Wish Park, which has formed a large ecological wetland, passing through the wetland's boardwalk, viewing platform, viewing pavilion, cruise ship dock, etc., and the beautiful landscape of the entire lake area relies on this.
The four sides of the Chuandi River around the core area of the resort add up to a total length of more than 10 kilometers (average width of 50 meters, water depth of 2-3 meters), divided into four sections of east, west, south and north, with the function of regulating the balance of the water system in the resort, water resources regulation and storage, flood drainage and other functions. Perhaps the layman only sees the color of the lake, and only the insider understands that the water systems of resort areas such as The Star Wish Lake and the Chuandi River, in addition to providing natural scenery, have also achieved major functions such as climate regulation and purification, regional division, water storage in the core area, and transportation media.
Urban green lung purifies the climate
On the shore of The Star Wish Lake, the ecological wetland extends around the lake, like a natural oxygen bar, and it is refreshing to be in it. At the same time, the improvement of lake water quality has a significant impact on creating a good ecological environment.
In the fresh and natural natural environment, there are all kinds of flowers and trees, birds and waterfowl and fish, and the protection of biological diversity is one of the focuses of environmental protection in the resort. Since July 2015, Shanghai Disney Resort and the Shanghai Wild Bird Club have collaborated on a bird watching activity in Wishing Lake Park, and about 110 species of birds have been observed so far. In autumn and winter, flocks of migratory birds come here to spend the winter, and dozens of birds choose to make their home in the Xingwan Lake wetland. The lake is full of blue waves, and flocks of fish chase and play in the water with the waves. In the grass by the lake, insects sometimes chirp and sometimes jump.
Zoning and concatenation

The Chuandi River has become an important water system connecting the core area of the resort, creating a fun line for leisure, sports and entertainment in the inner circle, and a green field line with ecological themes in the outer circle. Throughout the year, citizens can often be seen jogging or cycling along the "Dream Lane" on the Chuandi River. Sports activities such as rowing training and competitions, ten-kilometer health runs along the river and water orientation have also become routine.
Medium of transportation
There are boat bridges on the lake. Ferryes on Wishing Star Lake take on the responsibility of water transportation in the resort, people can take a ferry from Disneyland to Bicester Shanghai Shopping Village, and Shanghai Disneyland Hotel visitors can take a boat directly from the park to the hotel. Citizens and tourists can also rent boats on the lakeside of the town according to the different needs of couples, families, etc., put down their tired bodies and minds, wander in the waves, get close to the giant Donald Duck, experience the unique style of the resort from another angle, and enjoy the time with family and friends.
The many bridges of Wishing Star Lake serve as transportation facilities, and the landscape is also breathtaking. Entering the Star Wish Park from the West Gate, you can see a red Qimeng Bridge across the lake like a long rainbow, and the arc of the bridge deck form allows visitors to enjoy the lake view from multiple angles and the architectural landscapes such as the Paradise Hotel and the Shendi Cultural Center.
There are also two special bridges on Wishing Star Lake, the Strange Edge Bridge and the Fantasy Bridge, which resemble "twins" in appearance, and each connects the southeast and southwest regions of Wishing Star Lake. Both bridges are made of the main and secondary bridges, the main bridge deck is steel for vehicles, and the secondary bridge deck is transparent glass for people to walk, and pedestrians can see the scenery under the bridge through the glass, which is very attractive. These two "space curved girder unilateral suspension landscape bridges" are the first time to apply related technologies in China, with ingenious power transmission, light structure, and complex main and auxiliary bridge stitching structures in the forefront of similar bridge types in the world. In April 2020, Qiyuan Bridge and Fantasy Bridge also won the third prize of "Shanghai Science and Technology Award" for key technologies.
In the core area of Shanghai International Tourism and Resorts Zone, there are also bridges such as Rongwei Bridge, Xiangyun Bridge and Rainbow Bridge, which can also embellish the beautiful scenery in addition to connecting various places.
Water storage, purification and circulation
As early as the construction planning period, Disney adopted the optimal scheme of purifying and recycling the water of Wishing Star Lake to save municipal water.
The lake environment maintenance and public green irrigation system project in the core area of Shanghai International Tourism and Resorts Zone adopts the water quality standards consistent with similar projects in the world for the first time, and is also the leading domestic artificial landscape lake and irrigation water comprehensive treatment project so far. The water of Xingwan Lake is put into use after rainwater storage and recycling treatment, and the water quality can be upgraded to Class II water standard after treatment.
Rainwater from Shanghai Disneyland's grounds is also stored in the "Wishing Star Lake", which is treated through the resort's integrated water treatment plant and is specially supplied to the park.
