Recently, the reporter learned from the workstation of academician Ouyang Minggao that the battery safety laboratory jointly built by the Municipal Science and Education Industry Group and the Vehicle College of Tsinghua University was officially put into use.

In the past two days, the scientific research team from Tsinghua University is carrying out power battery testing in the battery safety laboratory of Ouyang Minggao's workstation.

Since its official establishment in September 2020, the battery safety laboratory of Ouyang Minggao Academician Workstation has entered the planning and construction, with an investment scale of 120 million yuan and a total area of 3,000 square meters, including two parts: the laboratory of advanced power batteries and the material analysis and testing laboratory, and the introduction of the most advanced battery safety core technology in China. At present, it has the experimental requirements and conditions for the safety preparation and safety testing of the new generation of batteries, which will be conducive to building and improving the safety technology chain of new energy vehicles and the high-quality development of the industry.

These new research results will be demonstrated and applied in new energy vehicles such as Chongqing Chang'an and Yibin Kaiyi. At the same time, the power replacement technology of new energy vehicle heavy trucks launched by Ouyang Minggao Academician Workstation will be promoted nationwide.
