In 2021, the world's major economies show a momentum of recovery, the digitization process continues to accelerate, the dependence and demand for communication networks in various fields continue to strengthen, and it has become a consensus to consolidate network infrastructure.

As investment in communications network infrastructure accelerates, the demand for fiber optic cables continues to grow. Market research firm CRU estimates that global demand for fiber optic cables will exceed 600 million core kilometers by 2025.

The network facilities represented by gigabit optical fiber networks are an important part of the new digital infrastructure and an important cornerstone for building a manufacturing power, a network power, and a digital China.

This year, China has successively issued the "Double Gigabit" Network Coordinated Development Action Plan (2021-2023) and the 5G Application "Sail" Action Plan (2021-2023) and other favorable policies. The "14th Five-Year Plan" Information and Communication Industry Development Plan issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is from the top-level design to the action plan, which further releases the determination and confidence to accelerate the construction of the "double gigabit" communication network.

At the same time, China Mobile's 143.2 million core kilometers of ordinary optical cable collection and bidding, the scale of this collection (an increase of 20% compared with 2020, an increase of 36% compared with 2019) and the price has rebounded significantly, and the volume and price rise is a positive signal, indicating that the industry is moving in a good direction.

The shortlist will be composed of two parts: recommended by industry veterans and self-recommendation by enterprises, the selection will adopt the method of netizen voting and expert review, the two ways of scoring 50% each, and the outstanding enterprises selected will be awarded the honorary title of "2021 China Optical Cable Quality Supplier" and released in relevant authoritative channels.
