Scott Fraser
Born in 1957
American painter
Many adjectives can be used to describe Scott Fraser's work: quirky, humorous, and thoughtful, but most importantly, there is a personal subjective imagination in his unique work, a variety of shapes, colors and textures, and an unconventional narrative. When he uses his realism as a means of presenting or revealing questions about where appearance is and what can guide the viewer, his work also enters contemporary discourse... His work turns the viewer's gaze inward and raises a series of all-encompassing questions: What is reality? Looks so real? He constantly experiences the changes in the visual arts in the era of exchange applications and virtual reality, while also paying tribute to the Dutch masters who inspired his still life methods.
In the words of Scott Fraser, "Experimenting with cause and effect and technique has allowed me to put my own unique mark on this subject." He was not a surrealist, nor was he a realist. He is himself.
