Born into a relatively enlightened merchant family, Tian Songyao studied since childhood, and later was admitted to a military academy in Nanjing, and in 1910, Tian Songyao joined the League, and it can be said that he was also a senior revolutionary.
After the founding of the Republic of China, Tian Songyao returned to his hometown of Sichuan and began to serve in the Sichuan Army. I have to admit that in the early years, Tian Songyao was still relatively fierce in battle, and he was a fierce general, especially in the Patriotic War, he was praised by General Cai Yi.
At that time, there was also a general surnamed Tian in Cai Yi's Dian army, and Cai Yi said that both the Sichuan and Yunnan armies had Tian troops, both of which were still capable of fighting, and the coincidence was interesting. However, the surname Tian in the Dian Army was little known and obscured, but Tian Songyao later became a famous character in the warlord melee in Sichuan.
Because of Xiao Yong and alertness, by 1926, Tian Songyao already had the territory of 26 counties in northwest Sichuan, the strength of 6 divisions, and became a prince of The Gathering Side. Wu Peifu made him a general in the army, and Chiang Kai-shek appointed him as the commander of the nationalist army.
However, the world is uncertain, life is like a drama, and soon, Tian Songyao is out. Why? Because Tian Songyao offended people in three aspects. The first is the people of Sichuan. Tian Songyao, the living landlord, knocked on the bone and sucked the marrow, and did not pull out a dime.
He collected the rent from the fields in the defense zone very fiercely, and people collected it once a year, he collected it three times a year, and later increased it to more than a dozen times a year, completely letting the people live. Moreover, Tian Songyao also implemented a pre-levy system, collected rent in advance, and tried every means to exploit the common people. The common people hated Tian Songyao to the bone, calling him a king and a bastard and sitting on the ground.
The second was Chiang Kai-shek. When Chiang Kai-shek had just established political power in Nanjing, Tian Songyao did not see the situation clearly and actually raised the banner of anti-Chiang Kai-shek with everyone. Although Tian Songyao later took the initiative to admit his mistake to Chiang Kai-shek, Liangzi had already been married, and Chiang Kai-shek did not like him.
The last one was the Red Army. The Red Fourth Front entered Sichuan and wanted to establish a base there. Chiang Kai-shek, of course, did not allow it, and he ordered the Sichuan warlords to "encircle and suppress" the Red Army. Tian Songyao can be described as a pioneer, he participated in both the three-way siege and the six-way siege, and as a result, they were all defeated. In the face of the heroic and invincible Red Fourth Front, Tian Songyao was a joke.
Chiang Kai-shek settled the account just after the autumn, dismissed Tian Songyao from his post and investigated it, and put Tian Songyao's deputy commander Sun Zhenzheng, who lost his army and withdrew from military circles. This was the time of 1935. Tian Songyao ended his military career in the 25th Army.
After being dismissed, Tian Songyao returned to his Songshan villa to live a leisurely life, he had money, read all day to entertain himself, sometimes met friends, and lived a very moist life. Once, Chiang Kai-shek came to Chengdu to inspect and asked Tian Songyao what he was doing, and Tian Songyao replied that he was studying behind closed doors.
At the end of the Liberation War, Chiang Kai-shek did not forget Tian Songyao, and he asked Tian Songyao to transfer four plane tickets to Taiwan by plane. Tian Songyao's face is not small, compared to Wang Lingji, he wants to go to Taiwan, but Chiang Kai-shek did not send him a plane.
Tian Songyao could go, but he did not go, he chose to stay, and together with Liu Wenhui, he peacefully revolted to welcome the arrival of new China. In 1975, at the age of 87, Tian Songyao wrote a long poem with the following sentences:
"The great achievements are attributed to the leadership of the party, and the praises of all parties are endless." Although this body is not lost, eight or seven people asked the heavy evening sun." In this year, Tian Songyao died. He was a bad guy at the time, but because he chose the right path, he had a pretty good life in his later years.
