During the Long March, the main force of the Red Army's Long March, Jiang Tengjiao remained in the Soviet zone and was a member of the Red 28th Army, carrying out guerrilla struggle with his comrades-in-arms.
After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Jiang Tengjiao was incorporated into the Fifth Detachment of the New Fourth Army and participated in many battles. In 1939, journalists from the Political Department asked to go to the front lines to investigate the enemy situation. In order to protect the safety of these reporters, Jiang Tengjiao removed his own gun and handed it to the reporter for self-defense.
When the reporter was familiar with the gun, he accidentally misfired, and Jiang Tengjiao next to him was hit by three bullets. Jiang Tengjiao immediately cut out one of the bullets, and before he could take out two more bullets, he received news of the enemy's attack. Immediately, Jiang Tengjiao led the warriors to meet the enemy. In the case of being seriously injured, Jiang Tengjiao still led the soldiers to surround and annihilate the enemy, captured a lot of guns and ammunition, and won a complete victory.
After the founding of New China, Jiang Tengjiao was awarded the rank of founding major general, when he was only 36 years old.

It was in 1965, when Jiang Tengjiao was the political commissar of the Nanjing Military Region, and he had been busy inviting guests and giving gifts, and he really did not pay attention to his own work. Not only that, Jiang Tengjiao also returned Xu Shiyou, who was then the commander of the Nanjing Military Region, back to his hometown. Jiang Tengjiao's later years
Later, in 1981, Jiang Tengjiao was sentenced to 18 years in prison. In prison, Jiang Tengjiao was allowed to seek medical parole because of his age and poor health, and organizationally considering his contributions during the revolutionary period. Let him reunite with his family and spend his old age in peace. In 2009, Jiang Tengjiao died of illness at the age of 90.
