Beijing: Increase the proportion of new energy vehicles in the 2022 passenger car indicator

Beijing, December 29 (Xinhua) -- The Beijing Municipal Passenger Car Index Regulation and Management Office announced on the 29th that it will increase the proportion of new energy indicators in the 2022 Beijing passenger car indicators. In 2022, the annual quota of passenger cars in Beijing will be 100,000. Among them, the quota of ordinary indicators has been reduced from 40,000 in 2021 to 30,000 in 2022, and the quota of new energy indicators has been increased from 60,000 to 70,000.

According to the announcement, this move is made in accordance with the notice of the State Council on printing and distributing the carbon peak action plan before 2030, the deployment of the "Beijing Municipal Ecological Environmental Protection Plan for the 14th Five-Year Plan period" formulated by Beijing Municipality on the promotion and application of new energy vehicles and the relevant requirements of the "Beijing Municipal 2021 New Energy Vehicle Promotion and Application Work Plan", in order to control the exhaust pollution of fuel vehicles, improve the air quality of the capital, and consider the rapid progress of new energy vehicle batteries and other technologies, the increase in cruising range and other actual conditions.

The announcement also released the specific situation of the allocation of passenger car indicators in Beijing in 2022. In terms of ordinary passenger car indicators, there are 28,600 household and personal indicators, and the number of household and individual indicators is the same pool; the unit index quota is 1,200; and the operating index quota is 200. In terms of new energy passenger car indicators, there are a total of 63,600 household and personal indicators, including 44,520 household indicators, 19,080 personal indicators, 3,600 unit indicators, and 2,800 operating indicators.
