After the baby is born, most parents pay more attention to the training of the baby's sitting, climbing, standing, and walking, and ignore the training of the baby's fine movements.
Fine movements are the grip of the hand and the coordination of the hands and eyes. For example, pinching, twisting, pressing, folding, bundling and other actions.
The more flexible the hand movements of the baby, the stronger the ability to explore, and the easier it is to harvest a smart brain.
So, how should we exercise your baby's fine motor movements?
Methods of fine motor exercise for each age group
Month 1
Babies at this age have limited finger movements, and most of their small hands are clenched in fists. For babies this month we mainly exercise their grasping ability.
When the baby is awake, the mother can put her finger in the palm of the baby's hand and let the baby grasp it. One thing to note in particular is that the baby should be less or not allowed to wear gloves, which is not conducive to the practice of the baby's hand movements.
Months 2-3
At this time, it is the stage of rapid development of baby's hand movements, which mainly exercises the baby's hand opening ability.
You can prepare a rattle, first demonstrate the rattle, and then open the baby's fingers, put the rattle into the baby's palm, training again and again, when you ring the bell, the baby will unconsciously want to open the small hand.
Months 3-5
At this stage, the baby can look at his own hands, his hands can be together, sometimes he will grasp his own small feet, and he can take the initiative to grasp them.
At this stage, the main exercise is to grasp accurately, the baby lies on the bed, takes a bell ball, shakes in front of the baby's eyes, and lets the baby take the initiative to hold the bell ball.
Months 6-8
At this stage, the baby can pass the toy between his hands, or he can take a block in each hand and knock it.
At this time, you can prepare some colored bricks, because the baby likes colored things, you have to demonstrate first, knock the two blocks against each other, and then put them into the baby's hands, the baby will follow you to see the action.
August-December
At this stage, the baby can use his thumb or index finger to pinch things, and he will be particularly interested in small holes and always want to put his small hands in them.
When training your baby to pinch something, you can prepare a container, put some soybeans in it, etc., and guide your baby to take something out of it. Your baby may not be able to pinch it at first, but after a long exercise, his thumb and index finger will be pinched relatively. Special attention should be paid to the fact that when training this, there must be adult care to avoid danger to the baby.
1-2 years old
At this stage, babies especially like to grope, disassemble, throw things, etc. Parents can prepare some relatively large beads for the baby to wear, which not only exercises the baby's grasping ability, but also exercises the baby's hand-eye coordination ability.
2-3 years old
At this stage, the biggest feature of the baby is that he can "draw", you can apply paint on his hands, let him draw on the paper, and also prepare a paintbrush for him, teach him the posture of holding the pen, let him draw a straight circle and so on.
It is not difficult to exercise the baby's fine movements, but it requires mothers to be patient and careful. For babies of different months of age, mastering some interactive skills or small games can better help the baby develop.
