Friends who have seen the Water Margin know that Daizong is a famous Shenxing Taibao in Liangshan, known for his speed. What is less known is that there is also a "little Daizong" among the generals of the Nationalist army, and he is Sun Yuanliang, who is known for his escape. Sun Yuanliang's father was a late Qingzhi County, who gave birth to Sun Yuanliang at the age of 67, and because he was an old man, his father loved him very much and rarely spoke harshly of him. In order to cultivate Sun Yuanliang, his father spent a lot of money to invite many famous gentlemen to teach him to read.
In 1924, at the age of 20, Sun Yuanliang was admitted to the Huangpu Phase I and became alumni of the same period with Du Yuming, Guan Linzheng, Hu Zongnan and others. Although Sun Yuanliang was born in Chengdu, Sichuan, his ancestral home is Shaoxing, Zhejiang, because of this relationship and the appearance of the hall, so he was quickly reused by the old Jiang after graduation, and the promotion speed was very fast. At the beginning of the Northern Expedition, he was already the commander of the 1st Regiment of the 1st Division of the 1st Army of the Old Chiang Kai-shek, at this time Du Yuming was only a company commander, and Guan Linzheng was only a battalion commander, which shows how much old Jiang had a lot of weight for Sun Yuanliang.
However, Sun Yuanliang failed to live up to lao Jiang's love for him and escaped again and again on the battlefield. During the Northern Expedition, he abandoned Nanchang and did not listen to Cheng Qian's orders, running wildly all the way, thanks to the intercession of Xue Yue and others, Old Jiang did not shoot him. In the Battle of Huaihai, Huang Wei and Du Yuming and others were captured one after another, Huang Baitao and Qiu Qingquan were killed in battle, and Sun Yuanliang left his troops and ran wildly, even before Liu Zhi to Nanjing, and this skill even Liu Zhi, who had always been known for escaping, was ashamed of himself.
Sun Yuanliang's performance in the Northern Expedition War and the Liberation War was a disaster, there were few bright spots in the War of Resistance Against Japan, and his performance in the defense of Nanjing was even more criticized by the world. On the morning of December 12, 1937, the Japanese army broke through the Yuhuatai and attacked the Zhonghua Gate position. Officers and men of the 262nd Brigade of the 88th Division held the city walls despite Japanese artillery fire. At this time, Sun Yuanliang led the division's direct subordinate unit and a unit of the 262nd Brigade to retreat to Xiaguan without authorization, in an attempt to cross the river and retreat north. Inside the Rujiang Gate, he was "dissuaded" with machine guns by the commander of the 36th Division, Song Xilian, and had to return to the Zhonghua Gate to continue the battle, and soon after the Zhonghua Gate was broken, many soldiers of the 88th Division were killed, and the division commander Sun Yuanliang successfully escaped.
So how did Sun Yuanliang escape from the siege of the Japanese army? Song Xilian, then commander of the 36th Division of the Nationalist Army, described it in his "Personal Experience of the Battle of Nanjing": "On the Chinese side, the senior cadres who participated in the battle to defend Nanjing were all responsible. In particular, sun yuanliang's despicable and shameful behavior (after Sun Yuanliang came out of the meeting at the commander's headquarters at 5 p.m. on the 12th, he did not return to the army, took off his military uniform, changed into plain clothes, ran to a brothel to worship his mother as a dry mother, moved to a refugee area to hide for 1 month, and then evacuated the refugees by the Japanese army before he was mixed out), which is even more unspeakable. ”
As a witness to the defense of Nanjing, Song Xilian's words should have some credibility, and if so, Sun Yuanliang would be too sorry for the brothers who died in battle. At the end of the Liberation War, with the great rout of the Nationalist army, Sun Yuanliang also fled to Taiwan, but was abandoned by the old Chiang Kai-shek. At one time, he made a living as a noodle shop. However, Sun Yuanliang was very open-minded, and his mood was not greatly affected, and he lived to the age of 103 before he died. Sun Yuanliang had a total of 11 children in his lifetime, of which one son, Sun Xiangzhong (stage name Qin Han), became a famous idol drama star, and Qin Xianglin, Lin Fengjiao, and Lin Qingxia were collectively known as "Erqin Erlin", which was extremely popular.
