History has its own life, it is like a person, both easy-going and self-respecting. ——Yu Qiuyu
During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Shouguang County was a reliable rear area and base area of the Qinghe Military Region, and the masses of the people here enthusiastically joined the army, participated in the war, and supported the front, and also set up an arsenal, a quilt factory, and a field hospital in Judian Lake, Niutou Town. In the nearly ten years of bloody struggle, the heroic Shouguang children made indelible contributions and major sacrifices to the Japanese Kou.
According to historical records, during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, more than 1,700 heroic sons and daughters of Shouguang County sacrificed their lives for the country, and more than 7,500 casualties were inflicted in battles with the enemy.
Let's introduce the past events that happened in Shouguang during the War of Resistance.
On July 7, 1937, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out in full swing, and Shouguang County immediately organized anti-Japanese armed forces, and successively organized anti-Japanese backbone forces in Niutou Town, Wanggao, Cuijiazhuang, Taitou, Yangtou, Nanhe, Huying and other places. On December 29, 1937, armed forces from all over the country gathered in Niutou Town, officially declared the anti-Japanese armed uprising, and joined the eighth detachment of the Ludong Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Force. The people of Shouguang defended their homeland and defended their country, and the years of fighting against the Japanese Kou officially began, and dozens of battles took place between the enemy and us here.
On July 13, 1939, more than 50 Japanese puppet troops in the Gaozhan stronghold of Shouguang 2nd District, each riding a bicycle to Nanzhuang to search, were blocked by the third platoon of the second company of the Ma Chenglong Battalion of the anti-Japanese army Zhang Jingyue stationed in the village, killing and wounding more than ten people, and the rest retreated to the cemetery outside the village in an attempt to organize a counterattack. Our army quickly dispatched one or two platoons, under the cover of green gauze tents, to attack the back of the Japanese Kou, and the Japanese and the Japanese retreated.
On 14 July, Ma Chenglong concentrated all his forces to garrison Nanzhuang and build fortifications to counter the Japanese retaliation. At 10:00 a.m., more than 100 Japanese puppet troops, armed with 2 heavy machine guns and 2 cannons, were divided into 5 cars and set off from Shouguang City, passing through the Gaozhan stronghold and reaching Nanzhuang. At 1 p.m., the Japanese fired artillery fire into the village to cover the infantry attack. Our army held the fort. At 5 p.m., the Japanese and puppets stormed the village, and the two sides began a fierce street battle. In the middle of the night, our army was forced to withdraw and move to the east of the village. In this battle, our army suffered 15 casualties and killed or wounded more than 40 Japanese puppet troops.
On June 9, 1942, the Japanese Kou concentrated all the sixth mixed brigade and more than 5,000 Japanese puppet troops in Qingdao, Weixian and Huimin, with more than 300 cavalry, more than 100 cars, and 3 armored vehicles, and adopted the tactic of "long-distance attack and five-way combined attack" to pounce on the Qingshuipo area of Shouguang County.
The Japanese Kou slaughtered more than 200 people in some villages in Qingshuipo, arrested more than 100 young adults, and sent them to the Fushun Coal Mine to go down the well, and since then there has been no news.
In October 1942, the Japanese planned an even larger sweep. From Qingdao, Linqu, Guangrao, Weixian, Lijin and other places, they gathered more than 7,000 troops and carried out a large encirclement of the Qingshuipo area.
On October 4, a new round of massacres by the enemy began. Wherever riko went, he killed people when he saw them. In Yangzhuang Village, the streets were full of victims, and in an alley, 7 people were killed by Rikou with bayonets. In Gongtai and Yingzi Village, the Japanese Kou were so beastly that they stripped young women naked in broad daylight, wantonly destroyed them, and then killed them one by one.
In this sweep, more than 200 wounded and sick people of the anti-Japanese army were killed, and more than 400 villagers were brutally killed.
The road of history is full of twists and turns, and there is a lesson: "Conscientious and strong, the wind is the death"; "the prosperity is not sluggish, and strive to be strong". Only by keeping history in mind, taking history as a mirror, and being brave after knowing shame can we make our motherland prosperous and forever stand tall in the east of the world!
