Red Star Capital Bureau learned from people close to Waterdrop (NYSE:WDH) on January 4 that Tao Ran, partner and head of the big public relations business of Waterdrop, will leave his job in the near future.

It is understood that Tao Ran joined the water drop company at the end of 2019 and spoke on behalf of the water drop company many times.

According to public information, in 2004, Tao Ran joined Alibaba Group and successively served as manager, director and vice president of the public and customer communication department; in January 2015, Tao Ran joined Kuaidi Taxi as the company's senior vice president. Subsequently, the merger of Didi and Kuaidi, Tao Ran was in charge of public relations affairs at Didi, serving as the senior vice president of Didi Chuxing, leaving in June 2017. Before joining Waterdrop, Tao Ran also briefly joined the co-working enterprise Krypton Space.

Founded in 2016, Waterdrop Company focuses on the field of Internet health insurance protection, and the founder of the company is Shen Peng. Waterdrop has received multiple rounds of investment from Internet companies and investment institutions such as Tencent, Gaorong Capital, Lanchi Venture Capital, Innovation Factory, Meituan-Dianping, Zhen Fund, IDG Capital and so on.

On May 7 last year, Waterdrop was successfully listed on the New York Stock Exchange, but it suffered a break on the first day of listing. As of the press release of Red Star Capital Bureau, the stock price of Waterdrop Company is only $1.35 per share, with a total market capitalization of $532 million.
