On February 24, 2021, a 30-year-old woman, Long Mou, was defrauded by the Internet after borrowing 60,000 yuan from Tian. Because she had no money to repay, she had invited Tian to conspire to create a car accident to cheat insurance, but Tian refused.

Between April 6 and April 10 of the same year, Long took the initiative to contact the business personnel of 6 insurance companies and spent about 13,000 yuan to purchase a total of 17 kinds of accident insurance and 1 kind of other insurance.

On April 13 of the same year, in the name of moving to a new home, Long invited Tian to wait until he rented a house at No. XX, Tengziping, Tuojiang Town, Fenghuang County, to eat. Long Mou's feet were wearing sandals, and when he was cutting the pig's feet alone in the kitchen with an axe in his left hand, the axe accidentally fell off, but did not cause any damage to his feet. At this time, Long Mou had the idea of defrauding the insurance money by cutting his toes, and then, Long Mou held an axe in his left hand and cut off the fourth and fifth toes of his left foot, causing the fourth and fifth toes of his left foot to be cut off by Qi Gen, and then Long Mou shouted loudly, and Tian and others dialed the 120 emergency telephone number after checking the injury. During the period, Long contacted the salesmen of various insurance companies through WeChat or telephone to report the case, falsely claiming that he was accidentally injured.

Ten days later, Long applied for a claim from the insurance company, and the amount of the claim reached 430,000 yuan.

On July 6 of the same year, the Hubei Tongji Forensic Science Forensic Science Forensic Appraisal Center identified that Long's left foot injury was caused by the action of sharp objects, which was inconsistent with the way he complained about accidentally falling off the axe in his left hand.

At about 9 o'clock on July 19, 2021, Long was summoned to the case by the Fenghuang County Public Security Bureau according to law.

The People's Court of Fenghuang County, Hunan Province, held that Long mou deliberately fabricated the fact that his left foot was accidentally injured, applied for an accident insurance claim from the insurance company, and defrauded the insurance amount of a total of 430,000 yuan, a huge amount, and his behavior has constituted the crime of insurance fraud, and was sentenced to three years imprisonment, suspended for four years, and fined 50,000 yuan in accordance with the law.
