"Independent second brother" Great Wall Motor 2021 report card: annual sales of 1.28 million units, controversy Euler increased by 140%

On the evening of January 6, 2022, Great Wall Motor released its 2021 production and sales data, showing that it has achieved six consecutive years of sales of more than one million. Great Wall Motor sold more than 1.28 million new vehicles, up 15.2% year-on-year, and overseas sales of about 143,000 units, up 103.7% year-on-year, accounting for 11.1% of sales. In December, approximately 162,400 new vehicles were sold, up 8.2% y/y and 32.5% month-on-month.

Haval brand sales of about 770,000 vehicles in 2021, an increase of 2.6% year-on-year, is still the main sales force of the Great Wall, accounting for more than 60%. Among them, the "national god car" Haval H6 sold more than 370,000 vehicles in the whole year, accounting for nearly half of the haval brand sales.

In the field of new energy vehicles, Great Wall Motor sold about 137,000 units in 2021, accounting for 10.7% of the total sales, the highest value in history. The Euler brand sold about 135,000 vehicles in 2021, an increase of 140% year-on-year, contributing the vast majority of Great Wall's new energy sales. In December 2021, the monthly sales of the Euler brand exceeded 20,000 units for the first time, an increase of 64.2% year-on-year.

However, behind the eye-catching data, Euler's current challenges are very obvious. In November 2021, The Euler Good Cat car machine was exploded with a chip and the goods were not on the right board, and some car owners publicly defended their rights to the Great Wall Euler brand, saying that it involved false publicity.

In addition, the Great Wall is still limited in the high-end market. Tank 300 deliveries continued to rise in 2021, with approximately 85,000 vehicles delivered throughout the year and about 12,000 vehicles delivered in December. However, in addition to the Tank 300, its high-end brand Weipai has accumulated sales of about 58,000 units in 2021 and about 10,000 units in December, as a high-end car series, and its sales contribution is weaker than that of other Great Wall Motors brands.

Previously, the Great Wall set a target of 4 million vehicles per year in 2025, and new energy and high-end markets are areas that need to be filled urgently.
