As the saying goes: "Marry a woman to get a princess, flat land to buy the official palace", originally everyone wanted to be a donkey, become a relative of the emperor, but the princess of the Tang Dynasty really few people dare to marry, and even some people described it, marrying the princess of the Tang Dynasty, the family seems to have an additional "official palace" for no reason, so this horse is not good. And the reason why the princes and grandchildren were afraid of marrying the princess at that time was more or less related to the matter of the princess of Xincheng.
The tomb of Princess Xincheng was found
During the Tang Dynasty, the atmosphere was open, and the princess was the most honorable woman in the entire dynasty. There is a father and a queen who love the father and the queen, and a brother who cares, who dares to provoke them? Princess Xincheng was the youngest daughter of Emperor Taizong of Tang, her mother was Empress Wende's eldest son, her brother was Li Zhi, who later became emperor, and since ancient times, the youngest child has been spoiled by the whole family, and Princess Xincheng is no exception.
However, this woman with glory and wealth, set thousands of favors in one, the life expectancy is not long, she only lived to 29 years old, according to historical records, when she was buried according to the queen's etiquette, but the dynasty has paid the most attention to the rules of etiquette since ancient times, then, what happened that year, Li Zhi dared to disregard the ancestral rules and bury the princess with the queen's etiquette?
In the 90s of the last century, archaeologists found the tomb of the princess of Xincheng in Zhaoling, and when the experts entered the burial chamber, they sighed, which was really disgraceful. There are a large number of murals in the tomb of Princess Xincheng, and in one of the group of murals, several maids' heads have been deliberately scratched off, and there are also maids buried. Martyrdom is an extremely cruel burial culture, and since ancient times, it has only been for the emperor to be buried, and what happened to the princess of Xincheng was more mysterious, and if you want to understand the truth of the matter, you have to look at it from the experience of the princess.
A princess in favor
According to historical records, Princess Xincheng was born in 634, that is, in the eighth year of Zhenguan, but in the sixteenth year of Zhenguan, she was named "Princess of Hengshan County", at this time she was only 8 years old, she got the "real seal", among many princesses, this grace is the only one, and later Bai Juyi once said: "In modern times, those who have not yet been born and given Tang Mu are also like the title of princess, to be favored." "It can be seen that Emperor Taizong's love for his daughter is heart.
The glory is there, the marriage is unhappy
In the seventeenth year of Zhenguan, at this time, Princess Xincheng was only 9 years old, but this year Wei Zheng was seriously ill and was about to die, Emperor Taizong brought the crown prince and Princess Xincheng to visit, Emperor Taizong asked him with tears what unfulfilled wishes he had, Wei Zheng replied: "Concubines do not sympathize with Wei, and worry about the death of Emperor Zhou." Hearing Wei Zheng's words, Emperor Taizong gave his youngest daughter Xu to Wei Zheng, and the next day, Wei Zheng died of illness.
However, the daughter still had to marry, and something happened at that time, and Emperor Taizong suspected that Wei Zheng and Hou Jun had gathered the party, so he repented. After repenting of the marriage, Emperor Taizong carefully selected again, and finally selected the eldest son of Changsun Cao, Changsun Cao, who had a good family and good character, and for such a family affair, Changsun Cao was also promoted.
Emperor Taizong knew that his limit was approaching, so he ordered someone to prepare for the wedding immediately, but the etiquette of the princess's wedding was too complicated, and Emperor Taizong had already died before he saw his daughter get married. Li Zhi and Princess Xincheng were brothers and sisters of a mother, and in order not to delay her youth, it was decided that the princess would be married after one year of mourning, but according to the rules, it was necessary to serve for three years, so this suggestion was opposed by the group of courtiers.
So three years later, Princess Xincheng married the eldest grandson, Taizong's vision was indeed correct, the husband and wife Qinse and Ming, like the gods and immortals, but the good days did not last for several years, in 659, the eldest grandson family suffered, the eldest grandson was exiled, killed by local officials, since then the princess was depressed, she hated her brother for forcing her husband to die, but she did not say anything, but from then on she was silent and taciturn, no longer dressed up.
Li Zhi did not want to see his sister like this, so he arranged a family affair for him, and princess Xincheng remarried Wei Zhengzheng, but the princess still missed her ex-husband too much, and the marriage was not harmonious, and finally died at the age of 29. As soon as the princess died, Li Zhi believed that this was all caused by Wei Zhengju's disrespect for the princess, so he angered the donkey and killed the horse, and even the maid who took care of the princess was also given because of poor care and was dragged to the funeral.
In extreme grief, Li Zhi did not care about the etiquette, and buried his sister according to the empress's etiquette, which was the only case in the entire Tang Dynasty, although it was not in accordance with the rules, but it also showed Li Zhi's love for the princess of Xincheng.
In this way, everything found in the tomb of princess Xincheng can also be explained, and the palace maid who accompanied the burial, the portrait of the head scraped off, and the implicated donkey, all of which were disgraceful acts made by Li Zhisheng under his anger. Later, there was a saying: "The new city died of illness, and the master was humiliated by it." "People have sympathy for the people who are on horseback.
