According to reports, China's first fully self-developed 8k AI picture quality chip is Hisense 5th generation picture quality chip. For the first time, the chip has achieved leapfrog development from 4K to 8K, and has broken through core technologies such as AI perception image quality algorithms, and achieved high-precision image processing and extreme contrast enhancement capabilities by equipping artificial intelligence with "deep neural network" technology, so that the details and colors of the picture are closer to reality.
"Hisense 8K AI quality chip fills the gap of domestic ultra-high-definition picture quality chip." Gao Xinbo, president of Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications and head of the "Hisense-Xidian" intelligent image processing joint laboratory of Xidian University, said that in 2020, Xidian University and Hisense jointly established a joint laboratory for intelligent image processing, and its mission is to surpass the picture quality performance led by Japanese and Korean brands for a long time and realize the independent research and development of localization ultra-high-definition TV quality chips. After a year of technical research, Hisense's 8K AI picture quality chip can enable a variety of low-resolution videos to be presented in high quality on ultra-high-definition display devices.

It is reported that at present, Hisense 8K AI picture quality chip has been used in the whole machine, and this year will fully cover multiple series of display products including Hisense and Toshiba two major brands.
