Nowadays, most people talk about Tan Yanmin and must first think of Hunan cuisine, after all, Hunan cuisine can become a cuisine independently, and Tan Yanmin has made a very big contribution. Give up the treatment of Beijing officials and return to Hunan to develop

Tan Yanmin was born in 1880 in Chaling County, Hunan Province, the son of a former governor of Liangguang and a representative of the conservative faction. In the political system, my father was more stubborn and conservative, a typical "loyal to the king and love the people" figure, and he was disgusted with all new things. But fortunately, Tan Yanmin was not affected by his father in this regard, and the father and son were also frequently contradicted because of this.

In 1904, Tan Yanmin participated in the imperial examination and was given a career as a scholar, but Tan Yanmin did not follow the arrangement to stay in the capital as an official, but returned to Hunan to run a school. Tan Zhonglin said that he did not understand this very much, the background of the family was there, he was the best choice in the capital, and now giving up the opportunity to return to Hunan is really confusing to the family. Did Tan Yanmin's return to Hunan mean that he had given up his great future? Obviously not, his gaze was longer than his father Tan Zhonglin, he was already keenly aware of the rise of the emerging forces, and he was just waiting to return to Hunan.

Later, Empress Dowager Cixi pretended to start reforms, and Tan Yanmin also expressed support, and Tan Yanmin, 31, was then the speaker of the "Consultative Bureau" of Hunan Province. At that time, the division of parties in Hunan Province was obvious, there were both constitutionalists and revolutionaries, and the leader of the constitutionalists was Tan Yanmin.

In the chaos, he was forced to come to power and became the governor of Hunan

Why is it forced? Because both the former governor and the deputy governor were killed at that time, the political situation in Hunan was in chaos, and the post of governor at this time was simply a hot potato, how dare Tan Yanmin take over. However, at that time, there were no suitable candidates for both the revolutionaries and the constitutionalists, and Huang Xing and Tan Yanmin were more familiar, so he was the first person in the revolutionaries to stand up and support Tan Yanmin. For a time, both the revolutionaries and the constitutionalists expressed that they had no opinion on Tan Yanmin's coming to power as governor, and Tan Yanmin did not comment on this. Tan Yanmin knew in his heart that although he had taken office and got the right, the pros and cons were still mixed, and he had to balance everything. Since then, Tan Yanmin has been the leading figure in Hunan Province, spending most of his time on the run for the revolutionary cause.

In 1912, Tan Yanmin was officially appointed governor of Hunan by the Beijing government, and the following year he participated in the second revolution, and Hunan declared independence, but was removed from his post because he opposed Yuan Shikai's restoration. He joined the Patriotic Movement in 1915, reinstated in 1916, and joined the Kuomintang of China in 1922. By 1928, Tan Yanmin had served in a number of important positions in the National Government, and in October he was the president of the Executive Yuan.

Later, Chiang Kai-shek and his wife took charge of assigning Tan Xiangxu to the first leader of the Kuomintang "civil engineering department" at that time, the commander of the 11th Division, and the commander of the 18th Army: Chen Cheng. So if Tan Yanmin hadn't died early, Chen Cheng would have shouted when he saw Tan: Dad.
