In the history of China, there are many rare treasures that have been lost overseas, or flowed to the people, or destroyed in wars, or buried deep in the ground, and the same is true of the precious handwriting of famous masters in the history of calligraphy, and the words of many calligraphy masters have disappeared in the long river of history.
Among them, it is the work of the book Saint Wang Xizhi, which makes people feel most sorry, his "first line of the world's book" "Lanting Preface", in the Tang Dynasty years by Tang Taizong Li Shimin brought into the Zhaoling Tombs, and later the great tomb robber Wen Tao, turned the Zhaoling Tomb upside down, did not find the trace of the "Orchid Pavilion Preface", since then this volume of "The First Line of the Book of the World" is missing.
However, during the Tang Dynasty, there was a Huairen monk who used a unique method to preserve the true relics of Wang Xizhi.
This method is the "set of words".
When Master Xuanzang returned from India after 17 years of seeking Buddhahood, Tang Taizong was overjoyed and personally wrote a preface to the Buddhist scriptures, which is the "Holy Order" that is spoken of in modern times.
The monk Huairen, on the other hand, was instructed to collect characters from Wang Xizhi's calligraphy, and over a period of more than twenty years, he found all the words, not only the tang Taizong's article "Sacred Order", but also the notes written by the then crown prince Li Zhi (who later became emperor), and Xuanzang's translation of the Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra.
The three are one, and are called the "Sacred Order of the Book of Wang Xi in the Huairen Collection".
And what we want to talk about today is this painting of the Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra, which is a complete collection of Wang Xizhi's words.
The Heart Sutra composed of Huai Ren's collection of characters can also be called wang Xizhi's true handwriting, although it is not written by Wang Xizhi himself, but the characters are all deducted from Wang Xizhi's true handwriting, so from this work, we can glimpse the true calligraphy and brushwork essence of Wang Xizhi.
It should be known that after Tang Taizong "fried" Wang Xizhi's works, countless people in later dynasties and dynasties have painstakingly tried their best to get Wang Xizhi's authentic works, so that in the Ming and Qing dynasties, they could no longer find a single authentic work, and even the corner paper could not be found.
And a small number of Wang Xizhi's works that have been handed down now are not original works, but only hook and copy Tuoben!
Therefore, fortunately, there was a monk Huairen, who used this method of "collecting characters" to reproduce the true works of the book in another way!
Although this heart sutra is a collection of characters, the whole text is coherent, the gesture is vivid, has a very high artistic value, and has a great impact on future generations, no one has surpassed it for more than 1,000 years, and even some people commented: "This work does not lose the Orchid Pavilion Order!" ”
