Remember Chris Dunn? Recently, he signed to the Clippers' team, the Agua Caliente Clippers. While he wants to return to the NBA, there are growing signs that Dunn, who is about to turn 28, has said goodbye to the NBA. In the summer of 2021, the Hawks sent Dunn to Boston, the Green Army sent him to the Grizzlies, and dunn was subsequently cut.
In the 2020 offseason, Dunn joined the Hawks for $10 million in two years. In the 2020-21 season, Dunn underwent arthroscopic surgery and was almost reimbursed for the season. Dunn is also an older show, having been 22 years old when he entered the NBA draft. Dunn averaged 16.4 points, 5.3 boards, 6.2 assists and 2.5 steals per game in his senior season, and was named the NCAA's Best Defensive Player in the Great East For the second consecutive year, and the last player to do it was Ewing. Dunn is 1.93 meters tall, wears a No. 3 jersey in college, and is extremely fast, and is known as "Little Wade"!
In the 2016 draft, Dunn was picked up by the Timberwolves with the 5th pick in the first round. That year's No. 6 show was Hilde and No. 7 was Murray. As a senior, Dunn has proven his strength by reaching the top five of the draft and overpowering two major defenders. If you don't count Ben Simmons, Dunn is the top pick defender in the 2016 Draft.
In his rookie season, Dunn played 78 games for the Timberwolves, averaging 17.1 minutes per game and scoring only 3.8 points. There are too many young people on the team, and the Timberwolves have no patience to train him. In the summer of 2017, the Timberwolves packed Dunn, Lavin and Markkanen to trade from the Bulls for Butler and the 2017 first-round No. 16 pick.
The Bulls value Lavin and Dunn. In the 2018-19 season, Dunn played only 46 games, averaging 11.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6 assists per game, shooting a career-high 35.4% from three-point range. Dunn defended well, but his outside shots were always hard. The Bulls gave Dunn a two-year chance, but he didn't catch up with himself, who had high hopes, and the team slowly lost patience.
In the 2019 draft, the Bulls selected Kobe Bryant White with the 7th pick in the first round, which also meant that the team had to give up Dunn. In the 2019-20 season, Dunn played 51 games, averaging only 7.3 points, 3.6 boards and 3.4 assists per game, and his three-point shooting rate dropped to 25.9%. That season, Bryant White averaged 13.2 points, 3.5 boards and 2.7 assists per game, shooting 35.4 percent from three-point range.
Dunn was highly talented, but injuries and three-pointers constrained his development. If he can practice shooting and become a 3D player, Dunn's NBA career will not be just five seasons long. The NBA has never lacked genius, but to get a foothold in this league, talent alone is not enough, it also needs to work hard and a little luck.
