Foshan, January 15 (Reporter Cheng Jingwei) Guangdong Province Foshan City Urban Rail Transit Line 4 Phase I Project (Foshan Metro Line 4 Phase I Project) Groundbreaking Ceremony was held on the 15th at the construction site of Foshan Green Island Hubei Station, which will help Foshan integrate into the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and inject new vitality into the joint construction and sharing of the "Greater Bay Area on the Track". Zheng Ke, secretary of the Foshan Municipal Party Committee, and Bai Tao, mayor of Foshan, attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
According to the preliminary design approval of the project, the first phase of Foshan Metro Line 4 starts from Beijiang Avenue Station in the west to Ganggang Road Station in the east, with a total length of 55.22 kilometers; there are 33 stations on the whole line (30 underground stations and 3 elevated stations), with an average station spacing of about 1.71 kilometers.
There are a total of 14 interchange stations on the line, including the transfer between Smart New Town Station and Zhangcha Station and the currently operating Foshan Metro Line 2, and the transfer between Foshan West Station and Jihua 6th Road Station and Line 3 under construction.

As an east-west trunk line within the Foshan City Center Group, the first phase of Foshan Metro Line 4 will connect Sanshui District, Nanhai District and Chancheng District of Foshan City after completion, mainly connecting the Sanshui Southwest Group, Shishan City Sub-Center, Guangdong-Guizhou-Guiqian High-speed Railway Economic Belt, Jihua Road Business Living Room and Sanlong Bay High-end Innovation Agglomeration Area and other key development areas.
The owner of the project is Foshan Railway Investment and Construction Group Co., Ltd., with a total investment of about 44.575 billion yuan and a planned maximum operating speed of 100 kilometers per hour.
It is reported that at the first meeting of the 16th People's Congress of Foshan Held recently, the Foshan Municipal Government Work Report proposed that the total mileage of Foshan urban rail transit operation (trial operation) will increase from 21.5 kilometers to 81.7 kilometers, and foshan will accelerate the urban rail transit network in the future and accelerate the integration into the "Greater Bay Area on the track".
